I came out gay to everyone with this silly music video on June Ninth, 2011! In 2001, I put that red hoodie on, lip-synced for hours to a techno remix of the Rolling Stones song to show I can be a Director, my lifelong dream. Nobody would trust or believe in me to endure the tedious process to create a music video, so I played the pop star role but I hated the results and canceled the project. It took another 10 years and combination of all of the skills I learned with many other video projects that didn't make me 'feel gay' like how that raw footage embarrassed me whenever I watched it in 2001. Over those years I videoed again, each version trying to act more 'straight' while lip-syncing to this song. I came to Realize I needed to finally accept myself to become the 'honest artist' that I can only be without the fear created in me by society's demons which followed me for so long. I had to end up in jail for 28 hours & face a court trial where if I didn't admit I was gay I would go to jail. So I came out personally to myself in 2010, changed my whole life. Ended the love I had with my Fiance' and let her live a better life. Than only in 2011 did I re-watch that footage of me in the red hoodie, I loved who I was in it, acting gay and being 'real' So I chose this as the 'coming-out' tool that I used to reveal to my family, loved ones, friends and public all at once on June Ninth, 2k11 with the posting of this video. It was an amazing day that freed me on all levels to pursue the life and dreams I once fought against & hide from the world. At one point I woulda jumped from a bridge before I would ever admit "I also like guys" but I said it this video and now say I only like guys cause even with those former words, I carefully picked them to not exclude liking girls cause I still feared saying I like guys 100% and hated being gay but I know it's what my heart wants as much as much sexual attraction wants and it's only for males. ....Cause I'm never gonna 'Miss U'......my former straight life & false image I created to be accepted and loved by society, I thought I could hide being gay and I tried to for 27 years. I love myself these days and ready to show the world what I can do when I follow my heart, admit I'm gay and finally be honest with the world! I never thought I'd be this happy and thought I was happy before I ended up in jail for repressing my gay side! This is a music video creation from the childhood of Nik Stamps, this video comes from a comedy collection called "The Lawnton Street Variety Show". This nostalgic music video, is the final act from that variety show created by Nik Stamps in 2008 while he attended film school in NYC. Nik went through 90+ hours of videotape footage that he recorded from 1996 to 1999 of his daily life. It was footage of friends, family, just fun times of teenage life mixed with attempts at making 'real films' with the kids in the neighborhood. So with a lot of editing & good music to bring the nostalgia this project Nik created was ultimately a love letter to his childhood, the life of growing up in the late 1990's...the period just before the millennium, when everything changed from the digital age... Random video projects he first started ten years previously were finally finished thanks to technology and his pursuit of filmmaking. All the dozens of hours on each videotape lead to the remarkable end result.... Nik created a 45 minute variety show as it was named, it's basically a YouTube playlist of life in the late 1990's just before smartphones, social media & YouTube changed everything. It was a short film created by an aspiring artist clearly focused on following his passion for entertainment and art. This short music video that is just part of a bigger project, that memorializes childhood & innocence of a special time that was celebrated through the camera of Nik Stamps. MisAdventures of NikNyk ShOw - "Crypt of Secrets" This short adventure at historic Laurel Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia brings NikNyk ShOw & Carole Audrey together searching a snow covered cemetery for a friend's grave that had them on a quest of respect but fun times... They missed the funeral, so they can't find locate the newly unmarked burial plot. They can't seem to handle anything in this semi fictional comedy film. However, during the process, they seem to uncover a mysterious plot of moving older headstones to create new burial plots! After Nik acts a fool while trespassing into an old crypt. In the end will they figure out the truth behind this dark mystery or will they realize that they might be delusional and merely intoxicated.... Will the final question be answered of what's in the big black trash bag or will the flying silver balls catch them first? This film is fictional but sadly the passing of our friend was a real event. This project was created to honor Liam Nace. The surreal elements and absurdity of this film was created to be loved and enjoyed by Liam. He was a great inspiration, his encouragement and support of the arts changed people. No illegal activities occurred in this film, all events were staged for entertainment. Written by Nik Stamps. This is collection of comedy films & music videos that Nik Stamps filmed & recorded in the late 1990's. Nik was a young aspiring film director and he started by shooting tons of videos on his new camcorder, recording everyday life as a teenager. Nik also shot celluloid films on an old Super-8, silent film camera just before Kodak stopped producing Super-8 film stock in 1999. So in the end Nik shot over 90+ hours of raw video footage during the years of 1997 through to 1999, filming the wild childhood adventures, as they happened along with the many kids living on Lawnton Street in Philadelphia. He never thought anyone would see the lost footage..... Years later, In 2008 while Nik attended film school in NYC, he was finally able to process, edit and utilize new technology to take the hours of video footage and create a cinema experience of sharing his childhood on Lawnton Street. This is a short hike to Kelpius Cave & mysterious story in the beautiful Wissahickon Park. The best starting point film in seeking the history of America's first Doomsday Cult. A truly incredible story of layers of magical intrigue, worth diving deeper to satisfy a curiosity. Hollywood fantasy with a wizard alchemist exploding his philosopher's stone of his, throwing it into the creek running by his cave. This community was in the wilderness of a "New World" decades before America was born as a nation, a land with natives who welcomed new arrivals, not yet experienced in the horror their people would endure in the future. Their home was a huge log tabernacle, a sanctuary, their school to practice various pursuits in art, music, science, astrology, a mixture of religious beliefs that dive in occult spiritual teachings that was not allowed in Europe they left behind for the freedom offered in a New World. The tabernacle built on neurology of 40 representing perfection and was surrounded by botanical gardens that inspired other botanical gardens that remain celebrated in Pennsylvania. They helped the residents near by with health, teaching children, even with horoscope or folk magic remedies. The group tried to improve the world and shape society, like supporting abolitionist fighting to end slavery, a full 100 years before it would take a civil war to abolish the horrible act. This union of exactly fourty monks was lead by Transylvanian born Johannes Kelpius he was their spiritual leader and his followers called themselves "Society of the Woman in the Wilderness" coming from Biblical prophecies of end times that would happen in 1700 destroying earth. However they would survive this Armageddon and be saved by a magical woman with unearthly powers. They built a observatory upon their tabernacle, the first in all America searching nightly for the arrival of this lady, waiting for her arrival, saving the 40 mystics and traveling onwards to other realms in reality with the haunting woman clothed in light. This film features video footage created by "WalkingCam" for their channel. Their project was further developed by Nik Stamps and features a reading from the famous 19th century Quaker poet, John Greenleaf Whittier. I'm his work he immortalized Kelpius & mystics with the phrase of his poem, "From his hermit's den, weird as wizard, maddest of Good Men..." Thanks for watching!
