Description:
Historical Artist Mark Maritato works on a military uniform study painting of a union civil war soldier in uniform of the 1st Texas Infantry Regiment as they appeared during the battle of Antietam Creek, (Sharpsburg) Maryland on the morning of September 17, 1862. This study is a reconstruction based on Historical research of the uniforms and equipment shown in period photos in the 1862 period. The painting is done in Acrylic Gouache on Strathmore Bristol Paper.
