Although Japanese PM Shigeru Ishiba admitted he was shocked by images of the US nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, he is known to be a supporter of Japan having its own nuclear arsenal. To discuss the issue, RT spoke with Vyacheslav Zimonin, a Russian historian and orientalist, who said such a perspective is quite possible.

China has launched large-scale military drills around the island of Taiwan, simulating strikes on sea and land targets. The move comes after remarks at the National Day celebrations underscored Beijing has no right to represent Taiwan. The Chinese ministry of Defense has shown they were listening, and now are sending a clear warning.
