The Only Way To End This War?

The lack of western aid to Ukraine and the consequential ammo shortages across the entire eastern front in Ukraine have led to pervasive panic in the West and in Kyiv as everyone predicts a major Russian offensive to start at the end of mud season and/or around the end of May to early June 2024.. National News Europe reports of massive military build up in the Luhansk oblast with Russian tank, armoured personnel carriers and equipment. Zelensky interviews with CBS and claims that Ukraine has stabilised the frontline but fears they will not be able to withstand the expected Russian offensive. The Standard- a U.K Based newspaper has even gloomier predictions as it notes the exhaustion from Ukrainian troops who have sat under enormous artillery fire from Russians that is even worse than the battle of the Somme in 1916. The Times article is by far the most alarming as it is entitled- it's time to prepare for the fall of Kyiv. All of these dire predictions raise the question of what will Putin do next after Ukraine falls. The ever louder cry that Europe must prepare for war with Russia has only been highlighted after the Crocus Concert Hall terrorist attack, which has caused Putin to lift his aim from merely the neo-nazis in Ukraine to, as he declared, the neo-nazi regime of the West. In any event, the western claim of Putin rampaging across Europe has been finally rebutted with an article from Foreign Policy which takes a far more sober and common sense approach and notes that not a single one of the western officials have any idea of what Putin will do after Ukraine and use their fear mongering to force Europeans to spend more money on defence and distract them from their declining economies. More than likely, since Puttin's main aim was to prevent Ukraine from becoming a member of NATO, should a peace deal to that effect occur, it is highly unlikely that Putin will need to go further.
