Unfortunately she is not the only one seeking the star, and thus must fight her way and defeat all the other characters that seek the star in shooter duels. The game plays mostly as a vertically-scrolling shooter, with you controlling your avatar and attempting to shoot and avoid the incoming enemies. The difference in this game is that each player has his own play area, a la Puyo Puyo, and the enemies cause splash damage around themselves when shot. Thus chaining the destruction of several enemies creates a combo that performs an attack move on your opponent. These moves can range from targeted fireballs, to special moves unique to each character, to the summoning of special "boss" characters that the other player must destroy before continuing. Each player has a lifebar, and as with most shooters there are bombs, and collectible power-ups to be found.

Ryu can also visit an arcade and play accurate versions of Hang-On and Space Harrier, as well as games like darts and pool. Included with the game is the Shenmue Passport disc. On this disc, players can receive tutorials about the mini-games or the battle system, watch cutscenes they've already seen in the game, and listen to music from the game.

The two tracks of the tank are operated independently. For example, make a quick spin by going forward with one track and backwards with the other. Moreover the turret can be turned in any direction. The camera always moves with the turret sometimes diverting the view towards the camera. The angle of the turret and the distance the rockets travel can be changed. The tank can only be controlled using the keyboard.

You get to make 3 timed runs through a skate park and attempt to get the highest score possible. If you do well enough, you will beat the scores of the computer-controlled skaters and win a medal. There are nine real-life pro skaters you can choose to play as, including Tony Hawk himself. Each skater has their own signature moves that earn you big points if pulled off successfully.

The game pits the counter-terrorist unit, RAINBOW, against global terrorist organizations that in some cases have taken hostages or have armed themselves with weapons of mass destruction. Rogue Spear focuses on realism, planning, strategy, and teamwork. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear was released for the PC on August 31, 1999, with versions for the Mac OS (2000), Dreamcast (2000), PlayStation (2001) and Game Boy Advance (2002) released later. A PlayStation 2 port was also announced at the time, but it was later canceled.

Shingo and King are available on all the non-Neo Geo systems, while Geese and the rest are only available on the PS2 and X-Box platforms. The gameplay system has also changed. The striker system and four-character teams found in the last three KOF releases have been totally removed. In their place are the old-school three man teams and the "Advanced system" from The King of Fighters '97 and The King of Fighters '98.

As part of his global domination plan, Vega sets up a tournament to find the world's best fighters to brainwash into his criminal organization Shadaloo. The game is a versus fighting game that builds on the foundation of Super Street Fighter II but introduces several new gameplay mechanics, including special moves called Super Combos, air combos, and throw recovery. It also introduced the secret character Gouki, who would go on to become a recurring character in later Capcom fighting games.

However, the course is varied sometimes, as several levels include vertically scrolling passages, and some bosses need to be beaten in a given amount of time. The game features three different weapons which are given from the start, but can be lost in the course of the game: whenever the ship is hit (the ship is destroyed on the third hit), the currently selected weapon is destroyed. Weapons can be regained by shooting and afterwards collecting a certain kind bonus item. Initially, the item is a score bonus, but once shot, it transforms into a weapon upgrade, further shots will alter the kind of weapon which will be upgraded. A lost weapon can be recovered by collecting the corresponding upgrade, any further improvement by collecting more upgrade requires the weapon be selected. Apart from upgrades, the direction of firing can be switched from forwards to backwards, and another fire mode allows to save up energy for devastating, R-Type-inspired beam.

On his journey he gains a number of followers and visits many different landscapes. The game features polygonal 3D characters drawn against a pre-rendered 2D background. The character design is inspired from Manga/Anime culture. The battle system of Silver is notable for being completely real-time opposed to many similar light role-playing games, which usually have turn-based combat. The player may choose any character in his adventuring party to control, and the rest of the characters are handled automatically by AI. The story focuses largely on collecting eight magic orbs representing different elements, which are Fire, Ice, Health, Earth, Acid, Lightning, Time and Light. Each orb is located at an area themed around the orb, and the player may use the collected orbs to cast different kind of spells against his enemies.

The PAL version a further 44, with European manufacturers Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Mercedes-Benz and Audi lending their products to the game. The game offers a mixture of production cars and models specifically designed for GT3 and GT2 races (and there are a few rally cars too), and localises some models for different regions (for example, in the United States, some high-end Toyota cars are given Lexus branding).

Unlike the traditional pre-rendered backgrounds of previous games, Code: Veronica incorporates real-time 3D environments and camera movement for the first time.

It was developed by id Software and ported to a variety of systems, including the Sega Dreamcast (whose port was handled by Raster Productions). The last game in this franchise to appear on a Sega system was Quake on the Sega Saturn. Quake III differs from previous installments in the series in that the game is focused on multiplayer matches. The technology and simplicity of Quake III made the game extremely popular, so much so that many people still play the game online today, despite the game being over a decade old. It is one of the few Dreamcast games which can still be played online due to fan servers.

Reportedly finished and ready to be published, the game was cancelled at the last minute in response to the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States of America. It is assumed that the "Tower City" stage was the main reason for this decision, as it is possible to fly around and crash planes in a city based on New York, and, according to Sega of America, allows "a determined individual to deliberately play the game in a manner that generates images similar to those we have seen on the news". In the game, the player flies various planes across arenas and engages in dogfights, making it a spiritual sequel to Wing War. Propeller Arena was also designed with online multiplayer in mind, and had the servers been activated, would have supported the Dreamcast Microphone (except in Europe, where online play was not set to be featured).

Instead, all graphics are rendered in flat polygons. Your goal is to fly your ship through ten abstract levels while avoiding being hit by the barrages of enemy bullets. Unlike orthodox shooters, your ship is only vulnerable at its very core, the "sweet spot" if you will. As long as the trajectory of enemy bullets doesn't cut through the core of your ship, they will pass through you without hurting you. In order to better navigate the bullet clusters, you have a slow-down key which slows down your own movements so that you gain more precision. Shooting down enemies makes them release green stars which give you bonus points, but no weapons upgrades or smart bombs are available; the goal is simply to survive using your plain cannon. In addition to the ten normal levels, there are four endless levels, where the aim is to survive as long as possible, thereby gaining a higher high score.

The game is divided between an overworld and eight different dungeons that can be accessed once you have the corresponding keys. There is no map to tell you where to go and many of the game’s secrets are hidden inside walls or are only revealed when every enemy in a room is slain, requiring players to explore and experiment to gain an advantage when challenging the dungeons.

With your license revoked and few memories, you are hired by Angela Stern, to find her fathers murderer. Maybe you’ll even find out what happened to yourself if you can stay alive long enough… Jack has a few moves at his disposal. He can duck and roll, push, pull and climb objects as well as flatten himself up against a wall. Between levels, Jack has a motorcycle that he uses to transport himself between various locations in the city. At various times in the game you will need to go to the LEILA building and upgrade your licence by practising your combat, stealth and driving skills. Jack also uses a CASIO Visual Manager to keep in touch with Angela and his former chief at the ACN.

The highly-anticipated port of Valve Software's popular Half-Life, it was originally scheduled to be published Sierra On-Line in late 2000 - a date which would eventually be pushed back to June 2001. With Sega's official discontinuing of the Dreamcast in March 2001, Sierra On-Line announced the port's cancellation on July 31, 2001, citing "changing market conditions". By then, Half-Life's Dreamcast version had already received a significant amount of both advertising and public awareness. Virtually every part of the game's production had been completed, from promotional kiosks to magazine reviews, and its official strategy guide had even been shipped to a small number of retailers for sale to consumers. With such a high-profile title seeing a very late cancellation, Half-Life has since developed a reputation as one of the Dreamcast's most infamous unreleased games.

Meanwhile, a new evil has appeared in the galaxy: a planet lord called "The Master", who can create and control evil beings made of steel, and uses his power to terrorize the galaxy. On his search, Gordian comes across the evil presence of The Master and sets out in his Gunlord suit for the planet Kairos II. Gunlord is a mixture of platforming and run & gun gameplay in the spirit of Turrican. This includes exploring large and highly branched levels in search for items, bonus, power-ups and the exit. The game mechanics are very similar, with an assortment of weapons, which can be upgraded by finding power-ups, but only being able to have one main weapon. Gordian is also able to form a ball to move through narrow passages or attack. Additional weapons are a limited amount of smart bombs (huge energy swipes across the screen) and flexible beam, which uses up (self-restoring) energy.

During the ceremony, strange events occur requiring Ryudo to escort Elena on a journey towards the Grandia 2 is a 3D RPG, viewed from a top-down perspective for most of the game and a 3rd person view during battle. Controlling Ryudo, the player will explore various locations, locating townspeople and objects within an area to interact with. Towns and dungeons are displayed in the same manner, though dungeons tend to be mazes filled with monsters and towns tend to be friendly areas filled instead with conversation and shops.

Unlike the first game which featured three different cities, Grand Theft Auto 2 only features a single town, but it's divided in three districts which are unlocked one at a time: downtown, residential and industrial. Like in the original the player goes around answering phones to initiate various missions. The game uses an overhead camera in a 3D landscape and allows the player to freely explore the city and steal any vehicle the player sets his or her eyes on. Because the game now features multiple criminal gangs, the player must choose allegiances. Performing missions for one gang, will decrease the player's reputation for another. When the player commits crimes he also becomes wanted by the local police, but as more crimes are committed without shaking the police, they will give way for first SWAT Teams, then Special Agents and finally the army.

Copied from Sega Retro: Geist Force(ガイストフォース) is an unreleased Sega Dreamcast game, one of the first games to be announced for the console, and also one of the first to be cancelled. Not much was known about the game for many years, other than it was a space-ship shooter similar to the likes of Star Fox 64 on the Nintendo 64. It was featured in several magazines and a couple of videos were released, but the game ultimately did not surface. The game was first shown at E3 1998, then again at Tokyo Game Show '98 Autumn where it was reportedly 80% complete. The two versions differed significantly, with speculation that the E3 version was entirely pre-rendred and used less than "30% of the Dreamcast's power". The project was originally due to be released as a launch title for the system in North America, but was cancelled sometime after mid-1999. Reportedly Geist Force was cancelled after political in-fighting amongst the team and missed deadlines. According to lead programmer Nimai Malle, the artwork was 90% done and the programming between 65-70% complete. There was also a lack of confidence of the game succeeding in Japan.

In comparison to the Novice mode, the Original mode features a shield to protect the ship, which can be activated for a short time, and holding the down the spread fire button will also shoot rockets after a few moments. Furthermore, the enemies are colored differently in Novice mode to make them more visible, and you collect golden stars as part of the scoring system. The Maniac mode adds some new ways to get higher scores. For example, the distance between your ship and an enemy influences the score. Destroying many enemies in short time will also increase the number of awarded points. Last, you can activate a "Grind Mode" by focusing your ship's laser beam on a huge enemy. The beam will turn green after a while and then all destroyed enemies will give a higher score.

In the game the player takes on the role of either one of two Royal army soldiers Eiro and Ann and their dolphin who have to fight through the post-greenhouse flood land to stop a force known as the Evil empire from taking over the world. The gameplay is similar to the Metal Slug series, with weapons firing in eight directions. However players may use their Dolphin to launch key special attacks. Stages take place both on land and underwater. The game also has fewer platforming segments than many other run 'n gun games and can be played solo or with a friend.

The courses are largely set inside cities crowded with general traffic and pedestrians (which can't be run over, they dive away). The main goal is to bring as many customers as possible to their destination in time. Available customers are marked through circles and the color represents the distance and the fare they offer. Green means long rides with plenty of money, and red ones are very short. In the main Arcade mode, there is a timer that quickly runs down. It can be replenished by picking up customers. While driving reckless maneuvers are encouraged. Players can disregard all traffic rules and customers give extra tips for speedy and dangerous driving, but these can only be cashed when the customer arrives at his destination in time. By the same token, the reward at the end of a ride is based on the amount of time left, as each customer also has a personal timer. The city is filled with slopes and jumps, and the game uses a very loose driving model. No damage can be done to the car, so driving as fast as possible is encouraged. While driving players can toy with the gears to perform two special tricks: a crazy drift and a crazy boost to speed up more quickly. Next to the Arcade mode, there is an Original mode and Crazy Box where specific goals need to be met on closed-down courses. In the regular modes, it is possible to disregard the usual timer and play for a fixed amount of minutes. At the end of the race, the player is rewarded with a license, either D, C, B, or A, with S for outstanding performance. Next to the interactive courses from the arcade version, there is a new course for home consoles. There are four cabs and drivers to choose from. The cars have different statistics and the drivers' different attitudes while racing. The game has a soundtrack featuring The Offspring and Bad Religion.

In each stage, players are given a set number of charges and can then navigate through a 3D floor plan, setting charges wherever they want. After setting their charges, the game simulates the building's collapse and players are scored based on how successful their job was.
