If you want results, you can’t JUST diet, you NEED to EXERCISE

It’s 2024 and we have a myriad of other priorities that often if not always interfere with our ability to commit to regular exercise. With the intent to at least take a step in the right direction we often make the VERY important decision to be more mindful of our nutrition and we begin to manage food quantity, quality and frequency of consumption.

The problem with JUST diet for positive health and performance outcomes is that the magnitude of effect is low. Diet alone ALLOWS for positive outcomes to occur but nutrition in of itself is a poor stimulus for change.

I liken the relationship between food and exercise like education/certification/resume to getting a job/position/promotion with higher pay/benefits.

You don’t need the resume to do the work but having it on the front end can help get your foot in the door, possibly start you at a higher salary, and in the case of continuing education, make you better at the job you’re already doing.

You CAN JUST (exercise) WORK, and you’ll make money, with the (nutrition) resume you’ll possibly make (better results) more, with just an awesome (diet) resume but no (exercise) job you aren’t making (meaningful, lasting changes) anything. In fact, the longer you stay that way, you’re just incurring (getting slower/weaker/fatter) debt.

Exercise might not be a “side job” you like, but it’s got the best health insurance bar none!! 😁

Being alive, managing work/family/life stress and just watching what you eat alone is not going to be enough, generally speaking to move the needle. If you have at minimum, health/longevity goals and a family, this is directed to you.

Exercise. It doesn’t take much, but you gotta make at least a little bit of time each week to do it 🤷🏿♂️
