Today in unfortunate misspeaks, CNN’s Jake Tapper informed Nikki Haley that former President Donald Trump “participated in an erection.” The host of The Lead welcomed Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley to Monday’s show, where they discussed the U.S. Supreme Court’s unanimous decision ruling that Colorado may not bar Trump from the presidential ballot. The state’s supreme court had ruled the former president was ineligible because he had run afoul of Section 3 of the 14th Amendment. That provision prohibits individuals who have engaged in insurrection from holding federal office. “I was very happy with the Supreme Court ruling,” Haley said. “Look, I’m trying to defeat Donald Trump fair and square. I don’t need them taking him off the ballot to do it.”
