Pomegranate sponge cake recipe
Ingredients:
• 3 cups of flour
• 2 cups of sugar
• 12 tablespoons of milk
• 10 tablespoons of vegetable oil
• 1 tablespoon of ground cardamom
• 1 teaspoon of baking powder
• 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
• 8 eggs
• 1 tablespoon of red food coloring (optional)
Instructions:
1. First, separate egg yolks from egg whites. Beat the egg yolks with sugar and vanilla for about five minutes until light in color.
2. Add milk and vegetable oil to the mixture and beat until well combined.
3. Sift together baking powder and flour twice, then add it to the wet mixture along with ground cardamom and, if desired, red food coloring. Mix for another five minutes until well combined.
4. Grease and flour a cake pan. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form, then gently fold them into the batter in three additions until evenly combined.
5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the surface. If baking in an oven, preheat the oven and bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. If cooking on the stovetop, place the pan on a low flame, cover, and cook for about half an hour without opening the lid. Check after half an hour to see if the cake is done.
6. Once the cake is done, let it cool completely before decorating with whipped cream or frosting. Enjoy the aroma of cardamom in this delicious cake! (Feel free to omit the cardamom if desired.)
