After serving as a councillor for 7 years Gino Kenny was elected to the Dáil as a People before Profit TD the in the 2016 election…and successfully defended his seat for Dublin Mid-West in 2020 when he raised the Palestinian flag and was moved to tears after a very tight finish….

He is known to wear his politics on his sleeve or his ‘X’ handle of @GinoSocialist.

Has been to the fore of many campaigns over the years from Palestine, to Water Charges and to Health which brought him into the Cannabis platform.

It was his 2016 Bill that after some hijacking by the Govt did lead to MCAP Ireland’s Medical Cannabis Access Programme which we discuss briefly in this call

He has been a constant thorn for successive governments raising the auld cannabis issue and on January 31st he will table another Bill!!

Due to happen last November via lottery his party the People before Profit have a space for a Bill

This time he is specifically targeting the decriminalisation of Cannabis for personal use which it is estimated would have ended up in 7000 people entering the justice system in 2023 so something really needs to happen

In this talk we discuss the process of legislating in the Dail and mainly the upcoming 2024 Bill…
