We all feel more secure in our hotel room or home once we swing that little latch into place don't we? Well if you are dealing with a highly motivated attacker, kidnapper, or thief don't place too much faith in it. The lock jockey makes popping it off a very simple task. This tool saves lives but it is also possible for criminals to exploit it. At a cost of $30 it's a no brainer for criminals.

Does this mean the latch is worthless, NO. You should still use it, but know it's limitations. When you are traveling, or if you have this style of latch at home you should always engage it when you are in the room. It's still a great added security measure.
