Second GOP Debate: Tell Me Why You're the Right Person #shorts #news

You know, as somebody who's debated a lot in his career, I have one piece of advice for anybody who is on that stage tonight, and that is if you're using the word I and you're trying to tell me why you were the right person, why you were qualified. You're missing the point. All communication occurs in the mind of the listener or the reader, and all of that should be about them.

People need to believe that you are going to take care of their problems. You are going to work with them. You are going to help them. And then they have to decide by the force of your arguments, the sense of authenticity, of your personality, and the willingness to come up with specific things that will help them decide you're the right person.

But to have you tell them you have the right person, Know that people really like to hear about what you can do for them, not what they should be doing for you.
