I have some numbers a really validate Speaker Mike Johnson's decision to have an offset for the spending on aid to Israel which is a break with the way patterns of normally going. They come from AmericasNewMajorityProject.com, which 64% of all Americans agree that raising the debt ceiling without cutting spending is actually a dirty debt ceiling deal because it means more debt, higher inflation, and weakens Social Security and Medicare. 73% of Americans consider it very or somewhat reasonable to cut future spending at the same time as raising the debt ceiling. Nearly seven out of ten Americans believe that Congress should reduce federal spending. Now, 86% of Republicans believe that 68% of independents, 53% of Democrats.
