Summer must be here! Fireworks, sno-cones, 90 degree scorching heat and, of course, Jonesborough Days in Jonesborough, Tennessee.

Jonesborough is Tennessee's oldest town and the location of the nation's first abolitionist papers decrying the practice of slavery. Seems like a great place full of great people... doesn't it?

Jonesborough Days is a 2 day even to celebrate Independence Day. We swung by for a peek on Saturday, July 1st and had a great time shopping at the vendor tents, listening to live music (not much made it in here due to copyright issues) and even had a funnel cake, some fully loaded ribbon chips and a yellow sno-cone from Sam's Snowball Paradise!

Sadly, the day just kept getting hotter and hotter and Darling Wife got a bit sunburned so we took off quicker than we'd have liked. Fear not, I borrowed footage of the children's Moon Pie eating contest from the fine folks at The Johnson City Press!
