Comparison of original 1959 Gibson Les Paul Junior with Gibson custom shop re-issue: Part 2 electric

Part 2 of this comparison video of 2 models of the same guitar separated by 60 years!

I use a Fender Twin Reverb clean and a Benson Preamp to go through a few chord passages and single note lines to try and tease out any differences 60 years make.

I have a Rode NT1-A and an SM57 just off the centre of the cone on one speaker and about 10" away.
No processing or plug ins were used and the recorded signal went straight into a Presonus Studio 68C and then Studio One. I edited with Sony Vegas.

Does 'old wood' impart a tonal majesty? Is an old guitar just an unplayable old wreck? Is a new guitar just a production line copy lacking the soul of the original?
Interesting questions and it's hard to hide from a Twin Reverb set at 4 with just a touch of reverb.

See what you think. Listen on headphones or good speakers and at 1080p for the full effect.

I have a full examination of the two on my website at https://www.gringopig.com/1959-les-paul-junior and I hope you can visit me there for photos and descriptions.
