Apartment building, dozens of cars damaged as UAV crashes in Moscow region

Locals were seen assessing the damage on Tuesday following the crash of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) in Krasnogorsk, Moscow region.

"We heard this buzzing," said one resident, Karina, who said she was at home at the time. "She [my daughter] became scared, she asked to be held, and as soon as my husband took her, there was this explosion, which woke me up. I woke up from this bright flash and this bang, and the house shook."

Footage also shows dozens of cars with broken windscreens and other damage, as emergency services continued their investigation.

Another eyewitness, Valeriy, stated that he heard a loud noise similar to the sound of an engine, followed by 'explosion and flames'.

Regional governor Andrei Vorobyov reported that the crash had resulted in 'broken windows in a high-rise building and damaged cars'.

According to the Russian Defence Ministry, two UAVs were detected and destroyed by air defence forces in the Moscow region on Tuesday night, with no reported casualties.

At the time of publication, the Ukrainian side had not commented on the UAV crash in Krasnogorsk. In response to a reported incident of a similar nature last month, Ukraine's Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov was quoted as saying 'whatever happens there [in Moscow], there will be more of this'.
