eWaste Pick Up Adventures - In The City

This video is just for up and coming recyclers to get a feel of what it's like doing an e-waste pick-up from an office building and what to expect on an average day.

Most e-waste is picked up from the city office buildings, There's a lot of challenges in this type of job.
Firstly it's finding a close enough car park as many buildings don't have loading docks and usually they are always full with tradesmen's vehicles doing jobs, so time is critical as loading zones on the street are only for short stays.

When taking bookings you should always ask that the e-waste is stacked up ready to take away quickly as many places won't do that and you end up having to wait for them to pick out items.

At this job I was confronted with 3 surprise photocopiers, usually a two man job and many recyclers charge up to $300 to pick them up, but being a smaller recycler I try and take them if they come with ample e-waste that I can do something with so in this case I said i'd take them.

I didn't have access to the loading dock but went back next day and got all 3 since I was doing another job 2 blocks up, I ended up taking them straight to a larger recycler just to get rid of them as I had no room to store them at my workshop.
