Pokemon Card GB 2 Part 73: Nurse Joy

A type of damage control deck where you heal and move damage counters around to your advantage!

It's definitely not a fast deck style, but it is effective because the opponent has difficulties getting through when it gets going. Mr. Mime's Invisible Wall blocks attacks over 20 damage which when combined with Alakazam's Damage Swap you can basically make Mr. Mime invincible unless they Gust Of Wind an Alakazam KO or can cause some lasting status effect. Which may be ineffective anyway because Phantom Venusaur is a status healer. As for all those damage counters accumulated? Pokemon Center comes in play. just move counters to Pokemon without energy cards like Chansey then mass-heal.

Does this deck style seem familiar? it should because there was a "Mysterious Pokemon" deck in the first TCG which had similar concepts. But I didn't really show it to it's fullest because that deck just used rare cards for the sake of rare cards without contributing to the best parts of the strategy. Sort of like Ishihara's. This one however, I built to be pretty efficient. If I "really" wanted to take advantage of the Alakazam combo though, I'd likely go all-Psychic with some splashes of Colorless, then utilize stuff like Switch or Full Heal to clear status conditions. But I really wanted to show you Phantom-Venusaur and it fits well here.
