Gov. DeSantis questions validity of criminal charges facing Trump

During an interview with CNN Anchor Jake Tapper Tuesday, 2024 Republican Presidential Candidate Ron DeSantis speculated about the two-tiered justice system against former President Donald Trump. The Florida Governor said Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s prosecution of Trump for allegedly mishandling classified documents was “stretching criminal law.” “The evidence of criminality was very weak,” Gov. DeSantis said of Bragg’s case against Trump. “And even if that existed, other people would not have been charged under those circumstances. That's the problem."
