Destroyed vehicles were thrown in water and scattered in the streets of Colombo on Tuesday, in the aftermath of violent protests against Sri Lanka's government, which resulted in the deaths of at least 8 people, while hundreds were injured.

Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa resigned on Monday after months of violent protests over the economic crisis, and police have imposed a curfew in the country.
