Mounting Transmission - Tracked Amphibious Vehicle Build Ep. 8

Fabricating skid steer brake differential carriage frame and mounts out of flat steel and square tubing so the differential can be removed for repairs. Mounting transmission in place only with two bolts first so it doesn't move while fabricating and mounting other things. It needs more mounting points in the future though. This handmade tracked vehicle has a 20 HP V-twin engine that will be connected to the five speed Peugeot Partner gearbox with CVT - continuously variable transmission that will act as a clutch too. Side brakes will steer this ATV and also brake it (duh), operating the thumb throttle taken from a snowmobile mounted on one of the brake levers will give me a really simple vehicle operating pattern so it can be operated only by using your hands. The car wheels I use on this ATV leaked air so I had to remove the tyres and refurbish the rims. I went to a local car repair shop and asked for a set of used tires with a good bead on them which I yet have to transport home and mount on the rims. I still have to fabricate the engine mounts and turn the adapter so I can install one part (spreading pulley) of the CVT on the gearbox clutch shaft. I also have to take apart the front wheel drive gearbox's differential and lock it. One of the half axles will then be used as a prop shaft and that completes the powertrain. If for some reason these universal joints / tractor PTO parts fail (so I've been told, never seen in the homestead / farm in practice over a couple of decades though) I can replace them and the poor Lada / Fiat differential, if needed, with a beefier BMW E36 independent rear suspension - differential, half shafts, the whole deal. So no worries! Thanks for watching, share, comment and subscribe for more because more will come!
