Felling & Milling Aspen - Band Sawmill Build #24

Felling aspen to make seat, steps and floor grate for the sauna steam room after it is cut on the homemade band sawmill. Now it has to dry a little and I will build the seat out of green wood letting it dry afterwards. I don't care about the cracks or anything, it gives the seat more character in my opinion. The blade got dull and I sharpened it with an angle grinder which is a bad plan since it's hard to replicate the exact grinding movement on every tooth by hand and it pretty much screws up the blade really fast. I also had an incident where the blade left its position on the blade wheels due to over adjusting the toe in / toe out of the band wheels and the blade took off into orbit but all good. The guards work well, couldn't imagine working on the mill without guards installed. Since the blade chewed on the saw head steel carrier frame it started to climb in the wood a little due to the wrecked teeth on the outside of the blade. I will probably upload the blade incident separately. The blade has already paid for itself and I can discard it when there's a need for it. I will order 10 more blades and start using them one by one and maybe get them sharpened in town by someone with a sharpening machine until I get to the point where I'll build myself a sharpener. We'll see. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for future videos!
