Are you prepared to begin your grocery shopping? Chief, take it easy there. Remove everything with a large carbohydrate content from the pantry, refrigerator, freezer, and hidden stashes under the bed. You can have a severe appetite for them during the first few days. Sorry, no fruit at this time. Even onions and carrots have a glycemic index that is too high for keto.

Got that done? Cool. Now, here are some of the staples you should build your ketogenic diet around:

Fatty nuts and seeds: cashews, macadamia nuts, pumpkin seeds
Avocado
