LECA is not a long term growing media for orchids! LECA has evaporative cooling which is dangerous for orchids that do not like their roots to get cold! LECA only works as a media for orchids for a limited amount of time, and then orchids will die when potted in LECA. Growing orchids in LECA is just a fad and not something that is feasible over an extended period of time. LECA retains a lot of mineral build up which accumulates in salt build up that results in orchid roots to die or burn. LECA desiccates the roots of orchids. And so on, and so forth... Really? This video touches the tip of the iceberg of LECA and I hope that it will be useful to anyone who has heard about these statements about LECA!
