A few weeks ago the scenario seemed very unlikely. "The moral of this story is you have to be proactive with your health," attorney Ralph Lorigo said. Late December, Smemthiewicz took an ambulance to the hospital with a severe case of COVID-19 and by January 2 was on a ventilator. Lorigo said the family was told she had a 20 percent chance of survival. "A son does all this research and the family gets together and the son convinces the ICU doctor to give her ivermectin," he said. On the experimental treatment, Lorigo said the patient improved enough in 48 hours to move to a regular COVID-19 floor. However, the doctors there would not give her the follow up doses of ivermectin and Smemthiewicz's condition deteriorated again. She's sent to the cardiac ward. The family, desperate, asks the attorney for help. "I tell them the only thing I can do is bring a lawsuit," Lorigo said. By January 8, the family has obtained a court order from state Supreme Court Judge Henry Nowak who ultimately said if the patient's doctor prescribes the treatment the hospital must administer it. Back on ivermectin, Smemthiewicz started to improve again, leaving Lorigo to question why they had to get the order in to the first place. "When there are no alternatives and when there's very little downside and when it's demonstrated this kind of effectiveness, people should know about it," Lorigo said. Ivermectin is an FDA-approved drug used to treat and prevent parasitic diseases. But UBMD Physicians Group Executive Director Dr. Kevin Gibbons said it's not clear yet how effective it is in treating COVID-19. "I don't know that we have a really true double blind placebo controlled trial," Gibbons said. "The things that we really need to prove something works or doesn't work. This is a drug that has a better safety profile for example than hydroxychloroquine." Lorigo said people want to try it and he's received calls about this case from all over the country, and even different parts of the world. "I've sent our paperwork to different lawyers and we've got people who are asking for help," he said. "It's a shame they have to go to that. It's a shame they have to hire a lawyer to do what should be their right under these circumstances." In a statement, Kaleida spokesperson Michael Hughes said: "Our board-certified physicians treat patients using evidenced based protocols to ensure the highest quality care to our patients. There are occasions when a treating physician might feel the benefits outweigh the risks of non-FDA approved therapies, such as ivermectin, but that is a decision left between the treating physician and their patient and the respective family." She was a nurse in the San Francisco Bay Area throughout the entire COVID episode. I had heard horror stories of relatives not being able to see their loved ones, of deaths caused by the treatment protocols, and, finally, deaths caused by the injections people were pressured into taking just to make it all stop. My interview with Gail dives deep into these issues. What went on in the hospitals during the so-called pandemic is a huge story. Many witnessed the hospitals' horror stories, but few have had the courage to talk about it. Because Gail is so refreshingly candid and forthcoming and doesn't pull any punches about what she saw, I found my interview with her to be one of the most compelling I've done to date. Gail describes how patients were systematically offered a drug named Remdesivir, a drug owned by Gilead Sciences, a biopharmaceutical company with close ties to Bill Gates. Remdesivir was made the "standard of care" by Anthony Fauci for COVID-19. As Gail recounts, Remdesivir caused patients' lungs to fill with liquid. Once that occurred, the oxygen levels of the patients dropped, precipitating intubation -- a procedure well known for its low survival rate. All the while, hospitals were rewarded for harming patients and ultimately for causing their deaths, Gail reveals. Why were family members not allowed to see loved ones on their deathbeds? Why were hospitals being financially rewarded for harming and killing patients? Why were injuries from the "vaccines" being brushed under the rug and not reported within the medical field? Key points of the interview include: • Hospitals were actually empty when the press told us they were full. • 90% or more of the COVID deaths were actually caused by the treatment protocols dictated from above, not the virus. There were both early treatments as well as inpatient treatments available that reduced the COVID death rate by over 90%. • The COVID vaccines increased all-cause mortality in hospitals by up to 80% according to one ICU doctor I spoke to who worked in the same hospital as Gail and made meticulous notes on patient outcomes. • One of the potential reasons people believed that there was a “pandemic of the unvaccinated” is that the EMR systems were programmed to default all COVID cases to unvaccinated and nurses weren’t told how to change it. • After the vaccines rolled out for an age group is when the hospitals started seeing very unusual things they’ve never seen or rarely seen before for that age group. • Doctors are still afraid to speak out. Bottom line: it wasn’t the virus that caused the pandemic. It was our response to the virus (top-down dictated treatment protocols and vaccination directives) that caused nearly all the morbidity and mortality. It was all preventable had we listened to the people that our government wanted to silence. Today, there is still a total lack of transparency of what happened in hospitals in 2021 after the shots rolled out. Sharyl Attkisson reports on COVID vaccine hospital mandates which started at Houston Methodist Hospital. Original Video: https://fullmeasure.news/news/cover-story/hospital-mandates The alarm is being sounded at hospitals across the country in critical condition due to staffing shortages. There’s an important side of that story seldom heard: the role that Covid vaccine mandates played in those shortages. Today, our cover story comes from Houston where we have a rare group interview with medical professionals-turned-whistleblowers from the first hospital in the nation to require Covid vaccines. They see a disturbing health care trend that could ultimately impact all of us. Dr. Venu Julapalli: My name is Dr. Venu Julapalli. I was on staff at Houston Methodist, The Woodlands, and got suspended and ultimately terminated due to the vaccine mandate. Sharyl: You did not want to get vaccinated? Julapalli: No. Dr. Venu Julapalli is among an outspoken group of medical professionals once affiliated with Houston Methodist. Methodist was the first hospital system in the nation to require Covid vaccines. Dr. Mary Crow: I refused to get the vaccine. Dr. Mary Talley Bowden: I spoke out on social media saying vaccine mandates were wrong. Carol Avila: And I said, "I don't want to take it.” Given Fessler: I ultimately gave my notice, and I went somewhere else. Owen Robinson: I was suspended and then terminated. It’s rare to find medical professionals from such a prominent hospital system speaking on camera on the topic — punished, they say, for using independent medical judgement, which they consider a hallmark of sound medicine. Dr. Julapalli started an email group of more than 1,000 of his colleagues to discuss and debate the policies. Many, he said, would only share their true feelings with him in private. Julapalli: The level of fear among our colleagues, among the medical staff, in terms of expressing their opinion, whatever it was, because they were afraid that they were going to be retaliated against by the institution, Houston Methodist, was off the charts and continues to be off the charts. Dr. Mary Crow is an oncologist hematologist who, like Dr. Julapalli, lost privileges to practice medicine at Methodist for refusing the vaccine. Crow: You have the right to put up your hand and say, "What the hell is going on here? Please explain this to me," and not risk obliteration of your personal and professional life. Dr. Mary Talley Bowden, an ear, nose, and throat specialist, also lost privileges at Methodist. Talley Bowden: I've tested over 80,000 people for Covid, and that's what first alerted me to what was going on, because we keep track of who's vaccinated and who's not. And the patients who were vaccinated and testing positive were just as sick, if not sicker, than the ones that weren't. And eventually, I saw more vaccinated patients testing positive than unvaccinated, and that's when I really became vocal — and Methodist did not like that. Houston Methodist began firing unvaccinated employees in June of 2021. CEO Dr. Marc Boom made the controversial vaccine mandate a linchpin of his leadership — and encouraged others to follow. Dr. Marc Boom, Houston Methodist President and CEO (June 11, 2021, MSNBC): I think patients should be demanding this at all hospitals, and frankly, I think you will see the floodgates begin to open at hospitals. We’ve seen a whole bunch of hospitals follow suit. It took a couple months, but they’ve been following suit. And I think you’re going to see many, many more. And there were "many more." With Houston Methodist leading the pack, within three months it was reported that at least 174 health systems were mandating Covid vaccines. The requirements triggering protests and court battles. A lawsuit against Methodist filed by employees got dismissed. The federal judge ruled that the hospital had made “a choice made to keep staff, patients, and their families safer.” Many at Methodist agreed. But these seasoned professionals claim the vaccine mandate didn’t make patients safer at all. And they gave numerous accounts of vaccinated employees coming to work ill. Owen Robinson is a critical care registered nurse. Robinson: At that time, the management in Methodist ICU forced two nurses to come in sick. Sharyl: Sick with Covid? Robinson: Positive with covid, with symptoms, fevers, and take care of patients in the ICU. So that completely obliterates their argument as far as patient safety, because there is nothing more unsafe than having sick nurses taking care of immunocompromised patients in the ICU. One nurse was so sick, she had a trainee, a new nurse, and she spent the entire day sitting at the desk, most of the time with her head down on the desk because she was so ill, and her trainee was taking care of the patients. Robinson says he originally agreed to get fully vaccinated to keep his job, but was fired after he refused the booster. Robinson: As far as the people who were vaccinated, they still got sick anyway. Sharyl: And you were vaccinated? Robinson: I was fully vaccinated. Sharyl: And you got Covid? Robinson: And I got Covid. Lots of the nurses in the unit got Covid. And then some of them got Covid multiple times. And then, even after the booster came out, there were nurses who were fully vaccinated and boosted who still got Covid more than one time. So, we didn't see any efficacy particularly with the booster. I wasn't going to get the booster, because it seemed completely pointless and useless. And so, therefore, I was terminated. Nurse Carol Avila and Given Fessler, a respiratory therapist, both got religious exemptions from the mandate due to the vaccines’ use of cells from aborted fetuses. They were tested weekly for Covid while working at Methodist. Until last fall. Fessler: They came out with a new vaccine called the Novavax and they gave us a 10-day warning saying, "Good news, there's a new vaccine out that does not go against your currently-approved exemption.” I applied for another religious exemption, and they came back a few weeks later, and they denied it, and they gave no reason for the denial. They just said, "It has not been approved." Sharyl: So? Fessler: So, I ultimately gave my notice, and I went somewhere else. Avila: I did have Covid in January 2021, and that was also one of the reasons that I didn't want to be vaccinated, besides my religious beliefs. But I also had to get tested every single week, and I never tested positive. And then my coworkers who got vaccinated — double, triple vaccinated — they all got it in my area. So it just was a confirmation to me that I did have the antibodies, because I've never gotten it again. Julapalli: The religious exemption issue, Houston Methodist has made into a joke. I had a religious exemption against the flu vaccine at Houston Methodist. My religious exemption for the Covid vaccine was denied. My religion has not changed. My very own brother has a religious exemption at Houston Methodist, The Woodlands, now. We have the same religion. There is no rhyme or reason for how Houston Methodist is handling religious exemptions. It's completely arbitrary and capricious. We wanted to hear Houston Methodist’s side of the story, but a spokesman declined our interview requests and did not answer our questions — including one about a particularly contentious allegation. Dr. Julapalli says his colleague claimed that a high-ranking official at Methodist offered her the opportunity to fake getting the vaccine. Julapalli: She told us that it would be done internally, and she told us that when she asked him, "Has this been offered to anyone else?" he said, "I can neither confirm nor deny that.” Methodist declined to answer when we asked whether any employees were offered an opportunity to pretend to be vaccinated. We also asked whether the hospital communicated with federal health officials or vaccine makers about the mandates, and whether Methodist was offered any financial benefit or gift related to mandating vaccines. A spokesman did not respond. In an interview in June of 2021, Methodist CEO Dr. Boom said the hospital’s policies were safety-and-science-driven. Dr. Marc Boom, Houston Methodist President and CEO (June 11, 2021, MSNBC): Yeah, we’ve said all along we will be driven by the science. We’re a science-based and medically-based institution, we have a faith underpinning, and we have a set of very, very strong values as an institution that puts patients at the center. So when people say to me, "I don’t want to put patients at the center," by their actions, yeah, they are not people who are a fit for our organization. Meantime, industry insiders are pointing to a global crisis in health care staffing. Italy is countering by reinstalling health care workers who were suspended for refusing the Covid vaccine. In New York, 100% of hospitals are reporting nursing shortages. More than 75% say other key positions can’t be filled. And half say they’re reducing or eliminating services. Texas, where Methodist is based, is also said to be suffering an ongoing hospital “staffing crisis." In a statement, Methodist told us, “We are not having nurse shortages.” Whatever the case, this group insists that punishing highly-credentialed health care professionals for their medical judgement will translate to poor patient care in the larger picture. Julapalli: You, our patients, our community, our neighbors, you have the power. We get our power from you. You have the power to question these hospitals that you're literally putting your lives into their hands. You have the power to question, why is this culture existing? Why are physicians so afraid to speak out when we're supposed to be independent? You the patient has the power to question what's going on here. Sharyl (on-camera): A court has ordered New York City to reinstate 1,750 workers fired over mandates with backpay. The city is appealing. The newly filed lawsuit accuses Methodist and Methodist CEO Marc Boom of severely damaging the reputation of Dr. Mary Bowden — an ear, nose, and throat doctor in River Oaks who had her provisional privileges taken away last year after making claims online related to vaccine efficacy. "Methodist and Boom retaliated against Dr. Bowden in an unprecedented manner. Without notice, they published false and defamatory statements to the press and on social media, affording no due process, acting contrary to and with reckless disregard for both the letter and spirit of Methodist's bylaws," the lawsuit reads. The $25-million defamation lawsuit was filed in Harris County District Court Monday morning. During a press conference Monday, Bowden said Methodist's decision to publicly oust her has forever changed her life. "I want to clear my name and hold them accountable. Every person has a right to an unimpaired reputation," Bowden said. "Thanks to Methodist, half the world thinks that I'm crazy and dangerous." Methodist declined to provide a comment about the newly filed lawsuit. As reported by the Houston Chronicle, Bowden told patients that she had done research suggesting "the vaccine is not working." In another email, she falsely suggested and then walked back a claim that Methodist was not treating unvaccinated patients, according to the Chronicle report. In November, the hospital announced on Twitter that Bowden's hospital privileges were suspended for "spreading dangerous misinformation" about COVID-19 vaccines which were "harmful to the community." As a result, Bowden resigned and filed a lawsuit in January asking for "financial documents detailing all revenue generated at Methodist Hospital through the COVID vaccination program." Methodist was the first hospital in the country to mandate the COVID-19 vaccine for employees — 153 employees were either terminated or resigned after they declined to get the shot last year. In response to the mandate, 178 hospital employees unsuccessfully sued the hospital to block the vaccine requirement from going into effect. The case was thrown it out by a federal judge in a scathing order blasting the plaintiffs' arguments – which compared the mandate to Nazi experimentation – as "reprehensible." Minnesota Nurses Say Vaccine Injuries Likely Underreported AlphaNews August 30, 2021 https://alphanews.org/minnesota-nurses-say-vaccine-injuries-likely-underreported/ Minnesota nurses say that injuries related to the coronavirus vaccine are underreported as hospital administrators discourage use of the adverse reaction reporting system. The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) is a government-administered database that health care professionals are required to use to report adverse reactions their patients have to vaccines. However, Minnesota nurses say that negative reactions to the COVID-19 vaccine are underreported as hospitals discourage their staff from recording them. These reports that the COVID shot may be more dangerous than the public is led to believe came by way of a town hall hosted by Rep. Erik Mortensen on Friday. The town hall was comprised of about two dozen nurses who came together to share their experiences working with the vaccine. Alpha News provided a livestream of the event. One of the nurses who spoke out said that her and her friends at other hospitals are “seeing more reactions with their patients post-vaccination than they’re seeing COVID patients.” This statement generated broad agreement from many of the other nurses who seem to have witnessed this same trend. Meanwhile, this nurse said her and her associates are “laughed at for bringing it [the side effects] up … There’s such an insane sense of bullying going on that people aren’t even wanting to speak up.” In addition to the anti-reporting social climate, the nurse explained that another confounding factor is how it takes half an hour to make a VAERS report. She said this makes it nearly impossible for understaffed, overburdened health care workers to find time to log each adverse reaction they see. “The nurses are being discouraged from reporting it because first of all it takes about 30 minutes to report on VAERS,” she said. For every report that exists, somebody “had to take 30 minutes out of their day to put that in and risk people walking by, seeing them doing this and belittling them,” the nurse added. “I would say that the VAERS reports hold a lot of clout because whoever put that in took their time to put that in,” the nurse concluded, responding to those who claim that VAERS data is unreliable since anyone can file a report. “I’m an ER nurse and I see all the strokes, the heart attacks, it is blatantly obvious what they [the vaccines] are causing, blatantly obvious,” a second nurse said at the town hall. “I don’t even know what to do with this,” said a third nurse, who is responsible for interacting with patients who call in to report the symptoms they’re having post-vaccination. She reported that the range of adverse reactions is broad and there are so many callers her line is overwhelmed. “I don’t know what to do so we send them to the emergency department and it gets written off and I don’t know what happens with the VAERS report,” she said. When this nurse raised concerns to the doctors at her institution about how many people seem to be dying after getting the shot, she said she received the following response: “The death number is wrong but most importantly the death number is related to death after they receive the vaccine. In other words the vaccine didn’t cause the death but was given in a time frame where death was reported.” Another nurse also said she got a concerning email from her hospital instructing her not to report whether or not new cases of the virus are occurring in patients who have been vaccinated. “We were also at one point reporting positive COVID cases of people that were vaccinated,” the nurse explained. “Two, three short weeks later [we got a] mass email that said we don’t want to know anymore whether they’re vaccinated or not.” “Why don’t you want to know whether this vaccine is working?” she asked. Many of those in attendance, including Mortensen, shared anecdotes about people they know who have suffered injuries post-shot. Apparently, health care workers have become so accustomed to seeing reactions occur that vaccine hesitancy is somewhat common. “You have health care systems that have very minimal people vaccinated. They want to tell you that they’re fully vaccinated — they are not,” one nurse reported. The nurses who are warry of receiving the vaccine also have some data to back them up. Use of the swine flu vaccine was discontinued in 1976 after about .001% of recipients responded poorly to the injection. According to a CDC report from the beginning of this year, VAERS shows that about .005% of COVID vaccine recipients suffer a serous reaction, .05% suffer a non-serious reaction and .0001% die. Although this death rate is fortunately very low, the rate of severe reactions is magnitudes higher than that of the swine flu vaccine that was deemed too unsafe for public consumption. ............
