Chicago Bears Announce 2022 Team Captains

Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus named team captains led by quarterback Justin Fields. Fields, OL Cody Whitehair, DE Robert Quinn and LB Roquan Smith were voted team captains by Bears players according to Eberflus. RB David Montgomery will be the Week 1 honorary captain as Flus says there will be a 5th honorary captain each week.

The Chicago Bears injury report for Wednesday, September 7th will be officially announced later this afternoon, but we do have a bit of a Lucas Patrick update. Patrick is still recovering from hand surgery and QB Justin Fields told Bears reporters that he hasn’t yet taken a snap for him. With just 4 days away from the Bears season opener against the 49ers, the chances of Patrick starting at center seem slim. Patrick played with a cast as a rookie according to ESPN’s Courtney Cronin, but he was playing guard, not center.
