Precuation and Valuable preparation tips prior to working with an orchid that has fusarium! Preparation is everything and containment of the work area for handling an orchid infected with fusarium, is key! Tips for sterilizing everything after the work is done, with a fusarium infected orchid, are included in this video! July 2022, I discovered Fusarium in an orchid during Orchid Chores Diary, where I talked about the difference between old, rotted and desiccated pseudobulbs while grooming my orchids. The orchid in question, that showed the purple ring coloring in an old pseudobulb, has been growing well for 4 years while in my collection, bloomed regularily ... no sign of any affliction! Even though, orchids can grow well with fusarium, the fungus may just be stalled, it can activate at any time.
