Vibrancy is something that I discovered when I was in college listening to graduate students play the flute. I realized that there was something different about their tone that I didn’t have.

But it was because of voice lessons and choir practice that I figured it out how to develop it on the flute. It’s a quality of vibrato that Sopranos call spin that I’m calling vibrancy. It's making your tone come alive.

I figured it out using Moyse’s short tones exercise in de la Sonorité.
