Paint Mines Interpretive Park, Calhan Colorado

Located approximately 30 miles east of Colorado Springs, the painted mines has amazing geological formations, hoodoos, colored clay and sandstone spires, all on a 750 acre track. We showed up in the afternoon, and spent the rest of daylight exploring the park. This is another not so well known gem. Not a lot of explorers, so once again we had the park to ourselves.
