Cruising through the beautiful Nevada desert on our KLR 650 (Las Vegas, NV)

Who doesn't love Vegas? We sure did!
We had a somewhat different experience of Vegas in this video. We both got on our Kawasaki KLR 650 for an epic ride in the gorgeous desert just on the outskirts of Las Vegas, Nevada.
We start off at our trailer that we parked a few miles from the nearest main road, heading down a winding and hilly road, passing other campers and vehicles along the way. Soon enough we reach the main freeway, taking a turn towards the nearby mountain range between us and the big city. Riding around 80 mph with the flow of traffic, Katrina got a bit nervous as we still had 100% pure off-road tires on "Sparkles", our beloved dual sport motorcycle. To ease her concerns for how sketchy Sparkles felt on these tires (yeah, it was sketchy for AF!), I slowed down just enough to make it feel a touch more steady as we passed over the mountain pass just West of the city.

The scenery was pretty stunning with awesome rock formations and bluebird skies overhead. Perfect temperature for riding too at around 80 degrees. We spent a while aimlessly cruising around seeing what interesting stuff we could find in our new "back yard" between the trailer and Vegas.

I was able to find a short bit of dirt road to explore and take our bike for a quick spin away from pavement off the side of HWY 160 (gotta make use of those all-dirt tires), then back on the pavement for more hauling butt and making our poor 5 speed gearbox scream for mercy! LOL
