It took about 3.5 hours to do this task as there is no room to work on it at all. The struggle was to get the old sensor unclipped and to try and re-install a bolt that I was not able to do. Getting to the sensor requires that the air intake be fully disconnected and removed so take some pictures if this doesn't come naturally. We bought the part directly from Ford and was about $23 Canadian. The sway bar link also need to be disconnected but it still doesn't lower the strut enough to be able to remove the upper control arm bolts. I had to use the pry bar to move it a bit so I could get the bolts out and back in to complete this job. This series is for entertainment purposes only! AHHH!!! The 4x4 actuator is broken! Winter is on it's way and we need to get this repaired! In this episode we are changing the passenger side 4x4 Actuator on 2012 Ford F-150 FX4. This is not a bad job but you do need a few oddball things like grease, rags and we use an air compressor to blow out some of the water that was behind the actuator. We haven't done this kind of job before either but we were able to do it in our driveway without any real issue. Removing the roller followers is the safest way for us to reinstall the heads because all the valves are closed and we can spin the am shaft freely to set it in the correct spot. Next is to install the heads but first we cleaned the heads one more time with 180 git 3M Roloc pads before installing the heads. Installing the driver side head was not easy but it wasn't terrible difficult either. Make sure the intermediate steering shaft if out of the way and you install the head on a much steeper angle then I tried the first time which was pretty much flat. Once we knew how to install it the passenger side head went a lot easier. Once the head blots were torqued we added a paint mark at the 3 o'clock because you have to turn the bolts an extra 270 degrees. You turn all 10 bolts per head in 3 stages. Follow the series 1-10 and 90 degrees each time. In this episode we are replacing the rear rotors on our 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. We can't afford to take it to the shop and repair everything they want repaired so we do it in pieces on each pay cheque. We have other episodes where we change the brake pads that was only a couple weeks before. I know that the rotors and pads should be done at the same time but sometimes its just not financially feasible. Really? The wiper switch just died? In this episode we are replacing the wiper switch on our 2012 Ford F-150 FX4 What's even more scary is that this is a regular occurrence on the F150's. I thought we were going to have to order it and wait for a few days for the part to come in and I was going to have to pull the fuse for the wipers to stop them for going every 30 seconds. But Napa one for $63.99 + tax. Ford had them for $122 and $135 for rain sensing which I don't have that option on my truck. It was a very simple job and I had my son Elijah do all the work to change out the switch and it took us about 10 minutes. Take the tires off 3. Remove the hydraulic hoses to the rack and pinion 4. Disconnect the tie rods 5. Disconnect the Intermediate Steering Shaft 6. Remove the bolts for the Rack and Pinion 7. remove rack and pinion Check and make sure that your tie rods are in good shape as well as the Intermediate Steering Shaft. We bought the rack and pinion from Napa Auto Parts along with the steering fluid. Luckily for me it was a simple and inexpensive repair. The Stihl MS290 was bogging and leaking fuel. After a quick check I could see that the fuel line had become unseated from the gas tank. I tried to re-seat it in the bush but it kept popping out and I knew I needed to get it repaired but I wanted to do it myself. This is my step by step on how I repaired mine. My fuel filler door started swinging in the wind the other day and today was the day to tackle it. After watching a couple videos I went out to hopefully fix mine with as much ease as the others did. I had some struggles getting to the clips on the filler box on the 5.5 foot box as there is not much room in there. After finally getting it apart I also had a struggle getting the spring mounted again. It looks like this is a new design from the 2009 versions that I had been watching. We got it done and it didn't cost me anything but time so those are the best kinds of repairs. Just a little video of my son changing my wife's winter tires on his own. I just wanted to teach him how to do it and record it at the same time so that I could have this for years down the road. Auto mechanics is always a good thing to teach to your kids so that they know what they're doing if an issue should arise. It builds confidence and takes away some of the mystery of what is happening under the hood. We purchased a back rack/2-up Seat for the quad from Kijiji. First I had to take the snowplow off of it and get it loaded before I installed in on the quad. We only had 1 usable U bolt to install it so we made 3 more using 1/4" ready rod. Not that it is installed, I'm sure it will be a big help on the new property! Bambi mode is allowing your truck to run with fog lights and high beams at the same time. This is a review of the fog lights that I purchased from Amazon and while I was waiting for the fog lights to come in, the driver side headlight also died. The headlight was an exact match in colour and brightness with the original headlight. The fog lights are at least twice as bright as the original bulbs and will make it a lot safer when driving at night. I bought an ES-TX20L battery from Walmart and installed it to get my sled running. It was a lot less difficult than I thought it was going to be to. After opening the side panels there is 1 (10mm) bolt holding the battery down securely, 2 (10mm) bolts connecting the battery and 1 bolt that is removed with a 2.5 allen key. Place all the cables out of the way before removing the battery. The battery comes out straight but then needs to tip down so that it can clear the battery holder. Next it is to put the battery back in using the reverse steps and it was back in in just a few minutes. Hopefully you found this helpful. Replacing Rear Rotor on 2009 Ford F150. The truck starting making some grinding noises and when I investigated I saw how bad my old rotor was. It needed to be replaced right away. I tried to capture the whole process but I didn't realize that the storage on my iPhone was full. Yes, I figured out how to clean up all the space on my iPhone. I might make a video about that process. I was able to capture me using a pick ax to pry the rotor off as it did need some force and I don't have a crowbar. It definitely needed some force. There are two bolt holes in the rotor as well that I will try and find the correct size bolts to see if that makes it any easier to pull the rotor off.
