Target Shooting and Exploring in Weed, CA - last time we were here, this was a thriving desert

This was filmed on 10/16/21.

This was one of our first stops in California on our big cross country trip. We were on the lookout for a free spot to spend the night when we came upon this spot in Weed Ca, that also happened to be the perfect area to sharpen my skills with a few of my firearms. I routinely conceal carry either my Glock 26 (my go-to carry gun), or the Ruger LCR 38 SPL. I shot some clay pigeons as well with my Benelli M2 shotgun as well, and even fired some slugs to really tear up some targets!
I did my shooting and cleaned up my litter to do my part in keeping these gorgeous public lands open for our enjoyment, as Katrina worked as my volunteer camera girl filming the action, and helping throw clays.

Katrina starts the video with some cool scenery of the local area, and talks a bit about how the last time we visited this spot about a year prior, it was very dry with lots of grass and trees. This time around, it was apparent that someone had made a camp fire when they shouldn't have, and most of it was burned down in a pretty large wildfire, leaving the trees very charred and "spooky" as she would call it in the video.

Soon enough, we were back on the road, having fantasies about what we wanted to see and do as we went coast-to-coast. Specifically, Katrina wanted to see and "real desert". Evidently this was in contrast to the "fake desert" that is CA!

When she asked what I wanted to see or do on our travels, I talked about visiting Connecticut and Maine for some fine dining on lobster some place out in the woods or on the beach together. I told her a story of how I used to not like lobster at all, and then suddenly I loved it to the point of eating so much lobster dipped in butter that I puked. Good times!

Hope ya'll enjoy coming along for our epic adventure!

We are Cody and Katrina, AKA Second Nature. We have been traveling the US in our 32’ 2018 Desert Fox 27fs toy hauler trailer since October 2021. A lot has happened since we left, and we hope you will come along for the ride!

When we first started on our trip a lot of chaos happened and we weren’t able to edit, so we’ve been working through our backlog of footage for a while. We plan to be caught up and current in the next few months. In the meantime, have fun watching our memories.
