The JAS 39 Gripen E is the newest fighter system in the series.

The JAS 39 Gripen E fighter jet was developed to counter and defeat increasingly sophisticated future threats.

Not only that, the E series is also intended for customers who have a more real threat.

In other words, this series is very suitable to be deployed in a conflicted area.

The E-Series also has a new and more powerful engine, improved range performance, and the ability to carry larger payloads.

It also has a new AESA radar, Infrared search and tracking system, highly advanced electronic warfare and communications systems along with superior situational awareness.

The E-Series redefines air power for the 21st century by expanding operational capabilities.

Interestingly, the Gripen E is said to be similar to the F-35.
former Swedish Air Force flight engineer Stefan Englund revealed that the only aircraft that could be compared to the Gripen E was the F-35.

The only aircraft the Gripen E has to compare is the F-35," Englund said.

The Gripen E has completely new features and capabilities more or less comparable to the F-35.

However, there is a difference, namely that Gripen E is not built with stealth technology even though it has a lower RCS than other fighters except the F-35 and F-22 and maybe but not sure, Russian and Chinese stealth.

The Gripen will also be equipped with an EW-suite based on GaN [Gallium Nitride] which might turn it into a ghost.'

Quoted from Saab.com, the latest version of Gripen will be developed keeping in mind the current signal environment, which continues to change rapidly.
