Desire & Spiritual Materialism

What is the true desire? Freedom & Satisfaction.

What is the "I" that seeks and searches for more to possess? What place does desire have in spirituality, if it is not for true freedom & satisfaction? Desires are illusory - in the sense that once they are fulfilled, another desire appears and creates the illusion of another goal to be achieved. This can trickle it's way into one's spirituality, and gives rise to spiritual materialism that feeds the ego, and not in service of the True Nature of the human being: with ideas such as "manifestation", "attraction", "acquisition".

Self-inquiry and mindfulness are key to remaining watchful - to avoid falling into these traps.
In this video, I point out a few traps, and the questions that could help in identifying what the true desire is; also, how to gauge intention with a desire - to see if anything is being avoided or denied (in exchange for covering up with spiritual materialism).

To be still, and know thyself - this reveals a satisfaction that doesn't come and go with material pursuits and attachments.
