Trash Patrol at Trillium Lake, Oregon

This video was filmed back in September 2021.

First off, I wanna say I totally realize the audio is garbage on this, but the source footage is already gone so can't fix it. I am pretty sure we figured out the cause and have changed settings in my editing software for future videos. Sorry...

We are both often saddened to see all the litter people discard at so many of the awesome and free dispersed camping areas we visit and enjoy. I really like going on what I call Litter Patrol, and Katrina is very often willing to come along and assist in the trash pickup.

In this video, she stayed back in the trailer and made us some tasty food that I enjoyed once I was done with my patrol.

When we first got to the Trillium Lake area, I got out Sparkles (our motorcycle) and rode all over the area finding just the right spot for us to bring our trailer and park for a few days. What I ended up finding that was the most ideal was this ski park parking lot that is totes free to park in during the summer and fall months, so we opted to stay there. It was getting really smokey while we were there due to wild fires nearby. Almost got to the point that we left early.

When I hiked over to this local free camp spot, the local authorities had been forced to put out a sign pretty much telling people that they are really pushing their luck with how much litter they had been leaving, and were considering closing the area to camping. Apparently it worked, cus the area was spotless, and I was looking forward to making our empty parking lot as clean as this camping area!

I film these videos in part to encourage people to not only pack their own trash to a trash can, but to go above and beyond by picking up others' trash as well. It makes ya feel good, and helps keep these areas open to us in the future. It is also a rather fun treasure hunting type activity.

This was my first time attempting recording my own video for this channel, and for some reason, I felt a touch anxious. Katrina helped encourage me by saying I would have plenty to say on camera, which was my main worry. According to her, not talking enough is never my shortcoming. Turns out she was right! Natural born YouTuber, as it turns out. ;)

Hope ya enjoy the weird things I find and say!

We are Cody and Katrina, AKA Second Nature. We have been traveling the US in our 32’ 2018 Desert Fox 27fs toy hauler trailer since October 2020. A lot has happened since we left, and we hope you will come along for the ride!

When we first started on our trip a lot of chaos happened and we weren’t able to edit, so we’ve been working through our backlog of footage for a while. We plan to be caught up and current in the next few months. In the meantime, have fun watching our memories.
