BURNWOOD BUSHCRAFT 5.1 - Coping with Owning Property with NO WOODS! This video was filmed in August 2021 a couple weeks after we settled into our home. I began to access the property and what I have to work with. Not having woods as a resource is something that I am going to have to come to terms with. I can only make the most of what I have and I am very thankful to have a place of my own. One of the many plans I have is to build a covered shelter for camping, cooking and firewood storage. There are many things that I can do here on the property to ensure that my family and I are prepared for any situation. This will be the focus of this series going forward. This series has shifted in a different direction and will be more focused on preparedness and sustainability at home. In this video I redo the pre-existing fire pit that came with the property in order to make it more functional yet aestheticially pleasing. It will be used for cooking using a tripod and hanging a bush pot or cast iron Dutch oven. It will also be used for grilling, roasting and baking. I feel it is important to have many alternative cooking methods in case of a SHTF or grid down scenario. I am hoping that this fire pit will last a long time.
