This week on the MindGrapes Podcast, Clark, Trent, and Blair sat down to discuss something other than the Will Smith | Chris Rock controversy.

This week, Blair’s MindGrapes was ‘WeCrashed’, the story about the famed unicorn entrepreneur Adam Neuman, who effectively gained a $46 billion valuation by defrauding investors. ‘WeCrashed’ stars Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway. Blair also gave ‘DMZ’ a thumbs down. He said Rosario Dawson’s acting was great, but the plot seemed derivative of ‘Warriors’ and ‘Escape from New York.’

Trent welcomed the newest member of the MindGrapes community this week, so he spent his hospital stay catching up on Ted Lasso, starring Jason Sudeikis. While Trent is a year behind the rest of the universe, we are glad he was able to experience the joys of Season 1 and the slow grinding disappointment of season 2. Perhaps 1 season was enough.

Trent gave ‘Boba Fett’ a thumbs down. On the other hand, he said ‘Mandalorian’ was one of the best series on Disney+.

Also, the new Disney+ Mickey Mouse adaptation is not safe for 2-year-olds.

Scandal Alert: We discussed the history of MindGrades and its future.

Trent and Blair are also very excited about ‘Ambulance’, the new Michael Bay film starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Eliza Gonzalez. Trent posited that ‘Ambulance’ might be like ‘Night Crawler’, which spawned a new tangent about ‘Nocturnal Animals’ and ‘Donnie Darko.’

On Clark’s MindGrapes this week, he discusses ‘The Bubble,’ which is a Judd Apatow film starring Karen Gillan, Fred Armisen, David Duchovny, Keegan-Michael Key, Leslie Mann, Kate McKinnon, Pedro Pascal, and many others. While Clark postulated that there was likely no script, just a series of improvisations, it was hilarious.

Clark also highly recommends ‘Moon Knight’ on Disney+ and ‘Severance’ on AppleTV+. Both are incredible.

On the other hand, Clark gave ‘Trust No One’ and ‘Byron Baes’ on Netflix a thumbs down. However, that had more to do with taste than the actual content.
