Volume training with squats
Some higher ish rep training, aka volume, to help push me to new levels of heavy squats.
8 full sets of 8 reps with 315lbs did the job quite nicely thank you! Lol..
2 warm up sets, 135x 5 and 225 x 5 then it was on to the party with 315.
Finished off wit 2 sets of 12 with 225, you know, for cardio purposes lol..
This worked out well as I went on to the next squat sesh and upped my previous best of 350x2 to do 360 for 3 full sets of 3. Tried to video docu it but camera has beena bitch lately and I lost a few good work out videos in the process...working on a new one soon...like...real soon!

de-load deadlifts
After crushing several new PRs over the last few weeks, I spent the last 2 sesh's going lighter with more reps. Last week i did 10 sets of 5 with 315lbs, knocked the shit AND the wind outta me but overall was good to back off from heavy shit!
No video as was a tedious work out of set after set of 5's, didn't wanna bore the masses! LOL...
This sesh was a fun day, lots of sets yet again with multiple sets of 3 with 405 but felt really good, needed the back off on the heavy yet again.
Feeling stronger each time as well, considering this was my best one rep'r back at Christmas'21

I would, cuz I got to improve on my PR in this last day of my powerlifting program for this month!
(Back to higher reps, in the 6-15reps zone for the month of April...wish me luck? HAHAHAHA...yeah..uh huh, its like that!)
Anyway, I pulled 455 for one rep (vid shows last set, it was a grinder I'll tell you that) for 4 sets, with a drop down to 405 x 3 (yup, new pr there too) and then 315 for 5 for the finish...
Wait for the end for my true thoughts on that set...LOL...

Hate Barbell benching, would rather crush heavy d-bells BUT! Ya gotta do the work, and that includes barbell work, so here we is!!!
I don't post a lot of my singles, doubles and triples in the bench only because they're really unremarkable, by my standards anyway, and their they only ones that count,so there!! LOL...
As usual, lots of sets working up the da big ones, which was 2 new PR poundages!

3rd week in a row, new PR!!
YAAAAA BAY-BAY!!! :D
So I've boosted my PR again, up another whopping 5lbs, AND AN ADDITIONAL SET! No complaints here!
I have to believe that doing 5 weeks of old school bodybuilding last month, after months and months of only doing primarily power movements, has really help my drive and strength as all my lifts, squats, deads and benching, are all up!
One more week of power lifts then come April, it'll be back 4-5 weeks of old school again and lets see where it takes this elderly individual!
(Hey, as of mid April, I will be "officially" a senior citizen! Insert EVERY crying emoji ***here***)

5 sets of warm ups as usual, 3 reps each

sets #9/#10 : 360lbs x 3 (video)

#12 225 x 15 (tried to record but alas,my camera AGAIN had a shit on me...GRRR
Great workout overall, finished of with still legged dumbell deads and calves....
Any suggestions on a good camera, looking for something to help with "better" editing and with a remote control would be cool, please and thankyou!...

ARCH NEMESIS for the pump!
Did 12 sets of singles, doubles and triples on flat bar bell benching, so time to go after the big pump using my BoS Arch nemesis bar...
Love the deep beyond body line stretch this bar gives for chest training, highly recommend purchasing one!

SUNDAYS ARE FOR PR DEADLIFTS
AWWWWW another Sunday dead lift adventure!
Several PRs were made today, and fkn piss me off that both of my camera phones malfunctioned!!!
Last weeks dl PR was 440lbs x 1 x 3 sets
Today's assault and PR achievements were as followed....(sadly several clips were automatically deleted when my cameras took their coffee breaks...
Sets 1-4 :135 x3, 225 x 3, 315 x3, 405 x1
Set 5: 435 x1
Set 6 : 445 x 1 (new PR)**
Sets 7-9:450 x1 (again, NEW PR #2, sadly no vid fkn main camera failed)
Set 10: 450 x 1 (second camera)
Set 11: 405 x 2 (New PR #3, first double with 400+lbs, BUT no vid, cuz,well, fkn second camera failed....GRRRRR)
Set 12: 315 x 6 for the finish...didn't even bother to try and record, threw both camera/phones across the room....off to buy new phone tomorrow, FML!!!
Besides the camera issues, IT WAS A FKN GRRRREAT DEADLIFT DAY!
My goal was 450lbs x1 by my 60th bday in 4 weeks...guess I kinda gotta get a new goal....495 perhaps? LOL...yeah, thats dreamin 101

Heavy Squat'n in the Sanitarium
Friiiiday Squat day!
Not sure why but it seems I'm always squating on a Friday, def a great way to finish a work week I guess? LOL...
It was a slug-fest at first as I did 5 sets of hamstring deadlifts first, usually full hamstring/glute w/o's are done the day before but I was away on business so I had to double up and I paid for it...man did it blast me...
New PR just the same...YAY!

Did some light lunging and cable pull-threw super sets at the end, 5 sets, just for shits n giggles cuz you know, why worry about walking for the next 24-48 hrs, right?...uh huh...right...
Over total sets was 24 and although it was a real brute to get thru, I was glad to up my PR by 5lbs and an extra 2 reps....good times...

440lb dead lift! U GOT DIS, OLD MAN!!
Like I always say, Sundays are for dead lifting :D
And once again I was back at increasing my PR!
It was a challenge as I squated a new PR only the day before, so legs were...um...tender! But...fk it! Its Sunday and I'ma gonna deadlift!!!
Started with my typical warmups, several incremental sets of 3 until 405, then 1 rep each!
work sets as follows:
405 x 1
425 x1
435 x 1 ..(first lift in vid, previous PR)
440 x1 x 3 sets (vid shows first 440, note the jubilation upon racking lol)
My goal is 450 by Apr 22/22 my 60th b-day, but I may have to up that challenge...should I?
Let me know, encouragement goes a looooong way with us newly minted senior citizens!

Squats:: All the heavy work sets
Back to powerlifting program, for the next 5 weeks and scored a new top PR first squat day back at it!
Pretty happy with the results, scoring 350lbs for 2 sets of one and then a 3rd set for 2...yeah baby!!! Previous best was 335 for 2 sets of one...progress, dats wadda I want :)

Nothing spectacular, just some seated low rows, with a new neutral grip handle, but just love how my back has come along, primarily from deadlifting I'm sure but cool to see the detail coming through...

Deadlifts,top 6 working sets
Its been over 6 weeks since I deadlifted more then 315, and man it felt gooood to go heavy again!
No records broken (435 PR) but that's coming real soon, I feel it no problems...but thoroughly rocked this workout!!
Started with 5 incremental increasing sets of 3 then on to these working sets..
6 sets as follows:
365 x 1
405 x 1
415 x1
and 3 sets of 420lbs, and they was eaaasy peasy!!!!
YAAA BAY-BAY!! LIGHT WEIGHT!!
I finished this deads sesh with 4 drop sets, video dropping after this...

Legs: Day 2, squats!
SQUATS BAY-BAY YESSSS!
Lol...I'm a touch excited cuz I rocked this workout, despite a full ham and calf workout the day before, (See Legs, Day one, previous vid)
Goal here, as its my very last day of my one month (+an extra week) bodybuilding old school, was 5 full working sets of 8 reps with 275lbs after 5 sets of 10 warm ups leading up to this weight!
Here's the last 2 sets, with the second set (being the 5th working set) I cranked out a "somewhat" easy set of 10!!
I WAS IMPRESSED WITH MYSELF LOL...
Dropped down to 225 and cranked out 5 more sets of 10-12reps...
Back to the singles, double and triples on everything starting tomorrow...for 5-6weeks then re-evaluate...

Legs, day one, deficit deadlifts
So once again I split my leg training into 2 days, hams and calves day one, then some type of squats the next day
After 5 sets of 12 elevated lunges w/power blocks it was on to the deficit stiff legged deadlifts, 3 light warm up sets, then 6 sets with 200lbs x 8 reps (clearly I lost count here on my last set and did only 7??)
Dumbass....
did 3 sets at 160 (20% drop) for 12 reps then 2 sets of walking lunges, 15 steps each direction..tomorrows squat day should be fun....no...not really...lol

ARCH NEMESIS PULLOVERS!!
So after a pile o sets with the Landmine T-bar rows, it was time for pull overs, and I saw a vid of a guy using their AN bar for them, soooo WTF lets do it!!
For the first time in a LONG time, I really did feel this movement as it mimicked the NAUTILUS SUPER PULLOVER machine!
Don't get me wrong, love dumbbells but this allowed me to widen my grip and really stretch far back!!
I have to admit, this AN bar from Bells of Steel comes into play a shit load of exercises!!!
For $200 its clearly worth it!!!

Land mine T-Bar in The Sanitarium
Have not used my Land mine in a while, so had some fun with it!
After wide grip pulldowns, 5 sets of 12, it was working time with the T-bar, narrow close grip.
5 sets, 10 reps each, cuz I'm in my last week of old school bodybuilding (added one more, so 5 weeks total) and the goal here is to keep the reps semi high, from my usual 4-6 heavy shit!
finished these with 2 sets of 2 plates for 15 reps, ya know for shits n giggles right?
Moved on into pullovers with the ARCH NEMESIS bar, dropping vid next...felt really good, loved the stretch...

SSB squats.part 2: drop set...and face plant? YIKES!
Squat day part 2
After 5 full sets of 8 reps with 270lbs on the Safety Squat bar (SSB) see previous vid, I, foolishly I might add, lol, did another set of 270 for 7 (watch for an "almost leg buckle" around 5 reps, eek) then peeled off a "whopping" 30lbs (smh) and aimed for another 5-7 reps...
yeeeaaah, that didn't workout so well :/ as I felt my legs starting cramp a wee bit, so only managed 4 reps...and then this happened..wait for it...

SSB squats: last 2 main sets
Todays leg sesh was suppose to be low bar squats buuuut its been a while since I did the Safety Squat bar (SSB) so WTF!
12 sets in total, this being the last 2 "" sets of 8 reps and it felt awesome!
Again, still on my one month bodybuilding old school training, week 4, so doing more then 3 reps per set is grinding, and a cardio killer!
Sets 1-5 warmups of 6 reps each with incrementally increasing lbs
Sets 6-10: 270lbs x 8 reps each
Did a 6th set of 270 x 6 or 7 reps, then dropped lbs to 240 for 4 more reps, was aiming for 6 or 7 reps as well, but that didn't go as planned... (posting that vid next...aaaand it was fugly, almost did a face plant as I racked the bar, yikes!!)
Finished with a 12th set with 240 for 10 reps after about 5 or so minutes (ok ok, almost 10 minutes, sheesh) recovering from the drop set...lol...

some "light" deadlifting...
Ok, so I have NOT done any heavy nor semi heavy deadlifts in almost a month since venturing out to my old school training style for the month of Feb, and so I was eager to do something fun with out hitting my heavy stuff...
I ended up doing about a dozen or so sets the other day, with 5 sets of 5 reps increasing poundage as I went, then 5 sets of 315 x 5 reps, then dropping down to 275 x 5, and then 225 for 5...
THOROUGHLY LOVED THIS WORKOUT! MISS HEAVY DEADS...(soon Geezer, soon...one more week and its back to being crazy with ones, doubles and triples...)

This leg sesh last week was a grinder lol...
Still on my one month, old school bodybuilding and what really added to the abuse was I did ALL hamstring movements just the day before...gonna have a JLO butt if I keep this shit up LOL!!!
(Thankfully, only one more week as of tomorrows leg workout, it'll be fugly cuz its gonna be this workout but 10 reps per set, and yes, todays w/out was again ALL hamstrings......FML...)

Arch Nemesis skull crushers
Skull crushers...aka tricep extensions, using my Arch Nemesis bar from Bells of Steel.
Totally forgot I video'd this exercise after curling in the rack...yes yes I know I know, curling in the rack is blasphemy...SO WHAT! My gym, my rules, so there LOL...
Anyway, def great movement, especially when one doesn't own a curl bar, but honestly, I prefer the BoS bar for these, easy on the wrists allows for more focus on the exercise!

brutal chest press super set
My bodybuilding 1 month program continues with yet another brutal super set, this time with 5 sets of 10 reps of 80lb Power block presses followed immediately with a slight supinated grip bench of another 10 reps with the Arch Nemesis bar!
Talk about a crrrrazy pump, man o man what a rush lol...
Finished off with several sets of elevate pushups on the dip bars, vid to follow soon!
