Old colony mennonites are squeezed into a modern world.
https://biblethebible.com/2615-2/
Mennonites do not reject technology outright but engage in a thorough deliberation process before adopting new technologies. They weigh the net benefit or negative impact on the community, distinguishing between useful technology and that intended for entertainment. This selective approach allows them to integrate technology into their lives while maintaining their traditional lifestyle and values.
Technology is increasingly being used by Mennonites for business purposes and communication. For instance, Old Colony Mennonites commonly use cell phones. Some approach technology adoption by focusing on functionality that supports their community and economic activities without compromising their antimodernist outlook.
Despite the integration of certain technologies, Mennonites strive to preserve their traditional practices. For example, the creation of internal network services within Hutterite colonies and the use of social media for cultural promotion and maintenance of colony structures indicate efforts to control and direct the influence of technology. This strategy helps balance the need for connectivity and modernization with the preservation of their unique communal and spiritual identities.
While technology facilitates communication and business growth, there are concerns about its potential negative impacts on Mennonite communities. Technologies that promote individualism or complicate their simple lifestyle may face resistance. This highlights the ongoing challenge for Mennonites to navigate the balance between embracing beneficial technology and safeguarding their traditional values and community-oriented ethos.
The approach to technology varies significantly across different Mennonite communities, ranging from progressive acceptance to more conservative avoidance. This diversity underscores the complex relationship between Mennonites and technology, where decisions about technology adoption are deeply intertwined with community values, lifestyle choices, and the desire to maintain a distinctive identity in the modern world.
In summary, the adoption of technology among Mennonites is a nuanced process that reflects their commitment to community, tradition, and a measured engagement with modern innovations. This approach allows them to leverage technology for practical purposes while striving to uphold their core values and practices.

Woe to those who are against Israel!
God said that He will bless those who bless Israel, and He will dishonor those and curse those who are against Israel. Genesis 12 verse 3. Mennonite Beliefs.
Welcome to our brief exploration of Mennonite beliefs.

Welcome to our brief exploration of Mennonite beliefs.
Mennonites are a Christian denomination with more than 1.5 million members in 75 countries. They live in society like other Christians, most of them drive cars, wear contemporary clothes, and are actively involved in their communities.
The Mennonite Church was named after Menno Simons, a former Dutch Catholic priest who joined the Anabaptist movement in 1562.
Mennonites have much in common with other Christian denominations. They place emphasis on peacemaking, service to others, and living a holy, Christ-centered life.
Mennonites believe the Bible is divinely inspired and that Jesus Christ died on the cross to save humanity from its sins. They also practice adult baptism as a sign of cleansing from sin and a pledge to follow Jesus Christ.
The church has long held a belief in pacifism. Members act this out as conscientious
objectors during war, but also as negotiators in resolving conflict between warring factions.
Many modern Mennonites still observe the fallowing practices, but the extent can vary based on the specific community or individual beliefs. Here’s a brief overview:
Sabbath Observance: Mennonites typically meet for worship services on Sunday, following the tradition of the early church. They base this on the fact that Jesus rose from the dead on the first day of the week.
Foot Washing: Foot washing holds a special place in Mennonite and broader Anabaptist traditions. Stemming from Jesus’ act of washing his disciples’ feet (John 13:1–17), it embodies humility, service, and the call to love one another. Some Mennonites regularly practice foot washing, while others do not. It is often observed during communion services as a tangible expression of these values.
Women Wearing Head Coverings: Many Mennonite women cover their hair as a sign of their humility, modesty, and submission to God and their husbands. This practice is based on the biblical teachings in 1 Corinthians 11:1–16. However, the practice can vary, with some Mennonite women choosing to wear a cap, bonnet, or scarf when they are in public.
Please note that these practices can vary widely among different Mennonite communities and individuals, reflecting a range of interpretations and applications of biblical teachings. It’s always best to ask individuals about their specific practices if you’re unsure.
Thank you for joining us on this brief journey into the core beliefs and doctrines of Mennonites.

Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
https://biblethebible.com
Exodus 20:3
The phrase "Thou shalt have no other gods before me" is part of the Ten Commandments found in the Hebrew Bible, specifically in Exodus 20 verse 3. This commandment is central to the monotheistic beliefs (only one God) of the Christian (mennonite)religions, emphasizing the exclusive worship of the one true God, Yahweh, and the prohibition (forbidding)of idolatry, which is the worship of false gods or idols.
The commandment is understood to mean that God wants His people's thoughts, desires, and actions to be guided solely by Him, without any distractions or competing priorities. This includes not giving one's heart, soul, and mind to anything or anyone else before God. The Lord warned His people against the dangers of being distracted by wealth, friends, marriages, and other things that could lead them away from focusing on Him. The concept of "false gods" mentioned in the sources refers to anything or anyone that one might place above God in their life, such as cultural traditions, career aspirations, material possessions, power, prominence, and prestige. These "false gods" can lead individuals away from the true path of worshiping the one true God and living according to His ways.
In the context of the New Testament, Jesus Christ emphasized the importance of loving God with all one's heart, soul, and mind, which is interpreted as the first and greatest commandment. This love for God is to be the foundation of one's life, with all other actions and priorities being guided by this love. The commandment serves as a guardrail for living a life that is fully aligned with God's will and values, avoiding the pitfalls of idolatry and the pursuit of false gods.
Despite being warned against idolatry, many believers (mennonites)fell into the temptation of worshipping these false gods, leading to their abandonment of God. The commandment, therefore, serves as a reminder of the importance of remaining faithful to the one true God and avoiding the allure of false gods.
In summary, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me" is a foundational principle in the Bible, emphasizing the exclusive worship of the one true God and the avoidance of idolatry. It serves as a guide for living a life that is fully aligned with God's will and values, with all actions and priorities guided by a love for God.

Enoch
https://biblethebible.com/enoch/.
In the annals of biblical history, Enoch stands as a beacon of faith and righteousness, a man whose life was a testament to the power of a close relationship with God. Born into a world marred by sin and corruption, Enoch was a descendant of Adam, the first man, and a great-great-great-great grandson, making him a direct link to the beginning of humanity. His story, though brief in the Bible, is rich with lessons that resonate with Christians today, teaching them about the importance of faith, the transcendence of death, and the pursuit of holiness.
Enoch’s life began in a time when the earth was filled with wickedness, a period that would eventually lead to the Great Flood. Yet, amidst this backdrop of moral decay, Enoch chose to walk in the ways of the Lord. His faith was so profound that it pleased God, a testament to the power of a heart that is fully surrendered to God’s will. This faith was not just a theoretical belief but a practical commitment that guided his every action, making him a living example of what it means to be a servant of God.
Enoch’s life was marked by a deep and intimate relationship with God, a relationship that was so close that it was described as him “walking with God.” This phrase suggests a level of closeness that transcends the ordinary, a bond that was not just a casual acquaintance but a profound and enduring connection. This intimate relationship with God was not just a personal experience but also a model for others to follow, teaching them the importance of cultivating a deep and personal relationship with God through prayer, faith, and righteous living.
Despite living in a time of great moral depravity, Enoch remained steadfast in his faith, choosing to live a life that was pleasing to God. His life was characterized by holiness and righteousness, qualities that set him apart from the wickedness that surrounded him. This choice to live a life of holiness and righteousness was not just a personal endeavor but also a witness to the power of God’s grace and the possibility of transformation.
Enoch’s story takes a remarkable turn when, after living for 365 years, God “took him away.” This event, described in Genesis 5:24, is unique in the Bible, as it is one of the few instances where an individual is taken directly to heaven without experiencing physical death. This event suggests the idea of life beyond this earthly existence and the hope of resurrection and eternal life for Christians. It serves as a reminder that God has the power to intervene in human affairs and that He can provide a way out of the trials and tribulations of this life.
Enoch’s story is a testament to the power of faith and the possibility of a life that is pleasing to God. His life teaches us about the importance of cultivating a deep and personal relationship with God, the pursuit of holiness and righteousness, and the hope of eternal life. His story is a beacon of hope in a world that often seems filled with despair and darkness, reminding us that with God, all things are possible.

Are there Mennonite groups living in China.
Mennonite mission work in China began after 1900 and established several strong communities.
However, their Mennonite identity essentially disappeared when the new communist government gathered all Protestants and Catholics into two national church structures.
Today, Mennonite involvement in China focuses primarily on education-related programs, such as teaching English and student or teacher exchanges. There’s also a program called Mennonite Partners in China, a joint program of Mennonite Church Canada International Witness and Mennonite Mission Network of Mennonite Church USA, which is creating an Anabaptist resourcing network to assist Chinese church leaders who want to know more about Anabaptism. The Mennonites in China primarily speak the local language. The activities of Mennonite groups in China may vary due to a range of social issues and government regulations. They have adapted to the local culture and language. The Mennonite communities in China are not typically organized into separate, self-contained colonies. Instead, they are more integrated into a broader society. The Mennonites (anabaptists) in C

Menno Simons (1496–1561)
Menno Simons was a Dutch priest and an early leader of the peaceful wing of Dutch Anabaptism, whose followers formed the Mennonite church.
He was born in Witmarsum, Friesland, Netherlands in 1496.
Little is known about Menno’s early life. However, we do know that He was married to a woman named Gertrude, they had at least three children, two daughters and a son. Menno was enrolled in a monastic school at an early age. In March 1524, at the age of 28, he was ordained at Utrecht and assigned to the parish at Pingjum, near the place of his birth.Seven years later, he became the village priest in his home parish at Witmarsum.
Menno Simons was an influential Anabaptist religious leader. Some times later He was excommunicated from the Catholic Church.
He was a contemporary of the Protestant Reformers and it is from his name that his followers became known as Mennonites.
Menno Simons was a converted priest.
He defended the Anabaptist movement against all detractors.
He wrote and printed many theological works.,
Menno’s main theological concerns lay in infant baptism, peace, and simple living under the law of Christ.
He believed in separation from this world. His writings about Reformed Christianity formalized the teachings of earlier Swiss Anabaptist founders as well as early teachings of the Mennonites founded on the belief in both the mission and ministry of Jesus.

Feet Washing. - Is it Biblical?
Jesus washed the feet of his disciples.
Jesus said to his disciples, I washed your feet.
You also, ought to wash other saint's feet.
Should we interpret Jesus's command literally?
Or did Jesus mean that we should look for ways to serve one another?
It seems obvious that it's designed to teach humility.
Jesus said I'm Your Leader, yet I humble myself to wash your feet.
So how much more should you be humbled
towards one another?
John Chapter 13 verses 12-15.
My take on this topic is this: Since Jesus commanded the washing of the saint's feet that every saint should practice this command. However, more than that, every saint should practice humility.
Proverbs 29:23-A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

JESUS SACRIFICES.
For Christians, the suffering of Jesus Christ is an important subject because they hold that it was through his suffering and sacrifice on the cross that humanity's need for redemption was made possible. One of the most well-known historical occurrences in Christianity is the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, which is recorded in the Bible. God, who was willing to suffer alongside humanity in order to deliver them from sin and a life of eternal torment, viewed His suffering and death as an act of love.
It has also been proposed that through Jesus Christ's suffering, death can be changed from an end to a beginning. His death and resurrection are thought to have transformed birth pains into birth pangs, opening the doors to eternal life for humanity. This conviction gives Christians hope that there is a promise of eternal life and a new nature even in the midst of suffering and death.
The Christian response to the issue of suffering and evil is to put our faith in God and entrust all of our worries to Him. The Bible claims that everything in our lives, including the difficulties and suffering we experience, can be used by God for good. This viewpoint offers Christians a helpful perspective on who they are and how they relate to those around them. These brief, minor afflictions are thought to be producing for us the eternal weight of glory.
In conclusion, the cross of Jesus Christ is a significant subject in Christianity, and theologians and academics have interpreted it in various ways over time. Whatever the interpretation, it is held that his agony and sacrifice on the cross prepared the way for humanity's redemption and gave suffering a purpose. Christians are urged to put their faith in God and lay all their worries at His feet because they know that He will make everything work out for their best.
