Dave Raymond's American History Trailer | Top-Rated American History Curriculum
History is best understood through the dual lenses of dramatic story and godly wisdom. Veteran history teacher Dave Raymond gives a comprehensive history of the United States by applying a Christian worldview to the characters, events, theology, literature, art, and religious beliefs of the nation. It is an engaging American history homeschool curriculum for students age 12 and up. Designed for upper middle school and lower high school (although upper high school would enjoy it, too).
"In my opinion, this course offers an excellent balance of interesting DVD lectures, serious reading, and challenging writing coupled with worthwhile portfolio and project work, all presented from within a Christian worldview." -- Cathy Duffy
Dave uses a combination of lectures and readings structured for a 5-day school week with daily tasks, weekly exams, and projects, as well as a year-long portfolio.

1. National Museum of African-American History and Culture – Washington D.C.
Visitors can peruse 37,000 objects relating to the visual and performing arts, civil rights, and segregation. After that, they can enjoy traditional meals of spicy oxtail and sweet potato pie at the museum’s Sweet Home Café.
2. Beale Street Historic District – Memphis, TN
During the ‘20s, Beale Street was alive and booming with nightclubs, restaurants, gambling, and theaters. Today, it's just as lively, with sounds of jazz, blues, and R&B music from some of the most influential African-American artists.

Deadliest mass shooting in US history
My mother, her girlfriend, and few close friends were there. It was horrifying as an 8th grader to wake up to a single "I love you" and see what had happened while I was sleeping. I'm so thankful they were able to make it under the stage without getting too hurt. RIP to everyone who lost their lives to this terrorist attack.
