Pentwater Bible Church Christmas Message II
WITHOUT THE FALL THERE IS NO NEED FOR THE REDEEMER; OUR LORD JESUS
The critics of the book of Genesis have been trying to deny the need for a Messiah and therefore cripple the New Testament facts of His birth. This is just another attack by Satan to draw those who would become believers away from this fundamental truth. There was a Fall, God promised a redeemer, Himself in the Lord Jesus. He came as prophesied at the exact time, place and conditions given in the Hebrew Scriptures. He was prophecied to arrive.

The Heresy of Replacement Theology
For several years after the church was born in Jerusalem, it was exclusively Jewish in membership. The Jews who accepted Jesus as Messiah and Savior were persecuted severely by Jews who rejected Him (Book of Hebrews). That persecution prompted Jewish believers to scatter to areas where Samaritans and Gentiles were predominant. Through their witness, Samaritans and many Gentiles became believers in Jesus and part of the church. Before the end of the first century of its existence, the church had become predominantly Gentile in membership.” As a result, the church began to experience significant changes from what it had been when it was mainly Jewish in membership. Within one hundred years after the apostles of Christ were gone, the “majority of Gentile Christians regarded the Jewish Scriptures as authoritative,” but began to think “of themselves as the true spiritual heirs of Israel,” and “claimed for themselves the promises which the Hebrews held that Yahweh had made to them.” Some then Thought that “The Christians held that, the Jews having been rejected by God, they themselves had become the chosen people.” They claimed that God permanently ended Israel’s unique relationship with Him as a nation, and replaced it with the church as His unique people. Thus, the Christians had become the Israel of God.

The Gentiles Will Bring The Jews Back to Israel
The Gentile nations will be moved by God to bring the children of Israel back to their promised land. The fact that Israel is to become the head of the Gentiles was part of God's promises to Israel in the Book of Deuteronomy. This will be a reward for obedience to God.

Babylon's Demise Prophecied
In this chapter the Lord prophecies the downfall of Babylon. Although He had already done so in Chapters 13 and 21, He repeats it to underscore the great harm the Babylonians will inflict upon Israel and the world. This was written approximately 166 years before the fall of Babylon to the Media Persians under Cyrus. As a result this event will stop the Babylonians in that status and cause the city of Babylon to lie in remission until the Antichrist makes it his civil and economic world headquarters yet future to us today. They promulgated the occult, a love for commerce instead of God and a rebellious attitude against all morality and obedience to God.
The Babylonians, Judah's captors in 586 B.C., would become captives themselves of the Media-Persians. Isaiah the prophet likens Babylon to a princess who sits on the ground in mourning for her family who have been killed. The mourning period over, she gets up to return to her throne, only to be told that her kingdom has been conquered and her people taken into captivity. Now no longer will she be delicate and dainty. She will be lower than common. She will be a prisoner of war.

Messiah a Light To The Gentiles
Messiah, the Servant of Jehovah, is called "Israel That Glorifies God" because He will be the only Jew to completely and perfectly fulfill the Mosaic Law. This section ends with some discouragement from the Messiah regarding the rejection He will endure, from the time of His first Advent through the entire Church age and on to the Tribulation. The Servant, despite His perfection, will be rejected, and it is this which causes His sadness. Yet He still has hope: "my reward is with my God."
From a New Testament point of view, the only place in the life of Jesus where this can find fulfillment is in the Garden of Gethsemane. In the Gospels, one reason for His discouragement is His fear of experiencing spiritual death, and He prays that the cup of God's wrath might pass from Him (Matthew 26:38–39; Mark 14:34–36).

God Gives Israel promises
Israel had not "ears to hear" to any highly spiritual truths as those that will be given in the next section. They had not profited by what was taught concerning Christ in the Law and in the Messianic Psalms. From that time that thine ear was not opened; rather, from that time thine ear hath not been open. "From that time" means "from of old," or "from the beginning"
Israel's insincerity, obstinacy, reliance on idols, blindness, and general resistance to God's will, was the reason they provoked God's anger. He says, He will not destroy Israel "for His Name's sake." God, having selected one nation out of all the nations of the earth to be His "peculiar people" (Deuteronomy 14:2), and having declared this, and supported his people by miracles in their struggles with the other nations and peoples, was, so to speak, committed to protect and defend Israel "for His Name's sake," lest His Name should be blasphemed among the Gentiles (Exodus 32:12; Numbers 14:13; Deuteronomy 9:28; Psalm 79:10; 106:8). He was also bound by the promises which He had made.

God Mocks Idolatry
God now speaks in a very caustic manner regarding the helplessness of the Babylonian idols, contrasted with His omnipotence and the foolishness of idolaters in general. It begins by speaking figuratively of Bel and Nebo, the Babylonian deities. It is important to understand that the temptation of genuine idolatry, had long since been generally eliminated from Jewish life, but the warnings were and are still relevant. There are always new temptations that have a powerful influence on people. Some are political, sexual, economic, or theological. Above all the evil false prophets and teachers characterize this influence in the greatest degree. This admonition is addressed to everyone in every age, each according to its own challenges. These temptations have harmed the spiritual life of Israel and subsequently the Church. When God through Isaiah calls upon His people, He says that only the Word of God is valid truth in every age, and to each person according to his or her own challenges.

God Uses Israel to Witness to The World
HE WILL USE THE JEWS TO BRING ABOUT A WORLDWIDE REVIVAL:
This purpose is given in Revelation 7:1-17. In verses 1-8 John describes the means by which, God will bring about this worldwide revival, while verses 9-17 portray the results of the revival.
Revelation 7:1–17 states that 12,000 Jews from each of the Twelve Tribes will be selected to be the evangelists. It is through these 144,000 Jews that God will bring about the worldwide revival and accomplish another goal of the Great Tribulation. The Jews live all over the world now in the Diaspora and speak the languages of the countries they are living in. They will also have knowledge of the Scriptures to evangelize both Jew and Gentile quickly. This will fulfill the prophecy found in Matthew 24:14:
Matthew 24:14
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony unto all the nations; and then shall the end come (KJV).
Following the vision of the 144,000 John saw the results of the evangelism of the chosen Jews. Many people were saved, too large to count.

Replacement Theology Part 2 of 2
The transition from a pre-millennial views of the early church in the first three centuries developed to the predominantly amillennial, postmillennial or anti-millennial view. “Augustine arbitrarily made the millennium non-literal, while everything else was literal. 6. That’s what happened, and the Roman Catholic Church became amillennial, and the Protestant Reformers like Calvin, Luther and others went back to Augustine rather than to the Bible, and adopted amillennialism too.
7. But, it wasn’t until the 19th and 20th Centuries when the Bible Conference movement began, and people began to ask what does the Scripture actually say?
8. It was not until then that premillennialism became again a prominent feature in the church--as it is today in some churches, at least.
1. In the first century the church was largely Jewish in its background. They were the evangelists, and they were the apostles.
2. As the gospel grew and the Church spread, it became largely Gentile.
3. The millennium is a time when the Jews are prominent.
4. It could be that there is a latent anti-Semitism in that they were quite unconscious of, that made them question whether Israel is going to have a literal future like the Bible clearly says.

Israel Has & Will Influence the Nations Part I
These passages describe some aspects regarding the Triumph of Israel in the Messianic Kingdom. All nations, even former will pay homage to Israel. The labor (wealth) of Egypt, and merchandise of Ethiopia and of the Sabeans will be transferred over to Israel and be hers when she becomes the head (of the nations) and not the tail (Deuteronomy 28:13; Isaiah 14:1-2; 53:4; 60:10; 61:5). The text explain that these nations will come in humiliating submission (Psalm 149:8), bowing down (Isaiah 49:23; 60:14), making supplication, declaring that God is with Israel. These three nations cited have all had issues of dominance over Israel. The text explain that these nations will come in complete submission (Psalm 149:8), bowing down (Isaiah 49:23; 60:14), making supplication, declaring that God is with Israel (Jeremiah 16:19) only and that there is no other God besides Him. With the conversion of the nations of the Messianic Kingdom, their wealth and homage will pour into Israel as they acknowledge and submit to Israel's God. Earlier, the nations mentioned here served as Israel's ransom but they themselves will be ransomed and enter into the blessings of the Messianic Kingdom.

The Lord is Sovereign
Now begins another discussion from God concerning His sovereignty. He again says that He is God alone, and there is no God besides Him. This is here presented as a most fundamental truth. Because when it is not firmly believed, it begets the practice of idolatry and many other isms in the world. These include atheism, pantheism, polytheism, materialism, dualism, humanism, and evolutionism. These philosophies are different ways to say there is no God, and are expressions of unbelief. The Lord uses a very commanding, sense of majesty and authority, encouraging defiance, to all pretenders, as He proclaim it to the world: I am the Lord, I the Lord, Jehovah, and there is none else, there is no God besides me, no other self-existent, self-sufficient, being, none finite and eternal. And again (v. 6), There is none besides me; all that are set up in competition with me are counterfeits; they are all vanity and a lie, for I am the Lord, and there is none else. He is Lord of all, and there is nothing done without Him (v. 7): I form the light, which is grateful and pleasing, and I create darkness, which is grievous and unpleasing. I make peace (put here for all good) and I create evil, not the evil of sin (God is not the author of that), but the evil of punishment through disorder or chaos. I the Lord order, and direct, and do all these things.

The Lord Chooses The Persian King Cyrus to Release His People
Here begins the magnificent prophecy of Cyrus the Persian who will conquer Babylon and release the Jewish prisoners of war at Babylon. Cyrus is said to be the Lord's shepherd, who will lead His people who are now captive in the wilderness of Babylon and who will shepherd their return to their homeland. Cyrus conquered many other nations before fighting with Babylon. Euphrates River ran through the middle of Babylon and divided it into two parts. Cyrus decided that the river channels under the walls provided the only chance of gaining entry, but the volume of water and the strength of the current were too great. The forces of Cyrus diverted much of the river into an artificial marsh. When the water level had dropped sufficiently low, the Persian soldiers made their way in under the wall and captured the Babylonian capital.
The scene of the leaders inside the city was one of joyful indifference as they engaged in a drunken orgy. It was depicted by the prophet Daniel.

Easter 2021 Who Benefits from Jesus Death & Resurrection
THE CHURCH IS:
THE BODY OF THE CHRIST
The true Church is invisible. The real Church is what Christ called His Church – His Body, the real believers. It is the invisible Church, that is, you can't see it. You don't know who's a believer and who is really not a believer. That's the invisible Church. Colossians 1:18 calls it the "Body of Christ", the "Body of the Messiah."

The Prophetic Significance of Palm Sunday
The significance of what we have come to call Palm Sunday cannot be overestimated as a major prophetic event in the Bible. This is the day, a week before the Passover which was the day our Lord Jesus was crucified. It is one day that was prophecied in the Scripture that would be fulfilled by the Messiah Himself.
Jesus knew that His arrival on this one particular day was so important and prophecied in Scripture. He was not going to let the people make Him their King until the exact time that was given the Scripture had arrived. He had arranged all things pertaining to His arrival in Jerusalem in order to cause the Scriptures which He wrote to be fulfilled exactly as they were given. None of the prophecied aspects of His arrival would be omitted or the timing of His arrival be off the prophecy. He would enter Jerusalem exactly the date when the Scriptures prophecied.

The Majesty of God
The creation He spoke into existence is "the expanse," also translated in Genesis as "firmament." We would say the "sky" or "atmosphere." The important concept for us to grasp in this verse is that God is "speaking" into existence the expanse, or in Hebrew the rakeeah. This Hebrew word rakeeah means, "to spread out" or "stretch." Other places in Scripture where this same expression is used are:
• He alone stretches out the heavens (Job 9:8).
• The heavens are stretched out like a tent curtain (Psalm 104:2).
• God stretches out the heavens like a curtain and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in (Isaiah 40:22).
• The Lord has stretched out the heavens (Jeremiah 10:12).
• God stretched out the heavens (Zechariah 12:1).

Deception and Idolatry in The Church Age
Continuing with the manifestations of idolatry and deception here are some examples of how it has continued into the Church Age and departs from Biblical Christianity.
ROMAN CATHOLICISM
While there are a great many other topics that can be discussed in relation to the Roman Catholic faith, only two others will be described at this time. The difference between Christian Communion and the Catholic Eucharist; and, the difference between the Biblical Mary and the Catholic Mary.

God Hates Idolatry
God, has previously mentioned His distaste for idolaters through Isaiah. Now He brings His full contempt and ridicule to them. He wants to warn the people of Israel and future generation about the strong temptation people will have to worship idols. For the Jews it was when they were captives in Egypt, Assyria, and Babylon. The Lord also wanted to warn and prevent them of their seeking to explore idolatry, which was the sin that did most easily beset the religious community in Babylon and after. Through Isaiah He gave them something to say to the people who were trying to influence them into idolatry. The question the cults and others outside of the truth ask is, Where is your God? The proper response is to explain what history and facts remind us of what God has done and how He has manifested Himself to us so, we must then ask, Where are your gods? Finally, it is important to not fear the non-god of the Lord's enemies, and to witness our hope in the true God.

God is The GOEL, The Redeemer to Israel and The Church
In this section of Scripture God makes a several declarations regarding Who He Is and sets out to affirm the several ways that prove that. The first is that He is the King of Israel since He founded them and created them into a Nation leading them through various trials to form them into a nation. He also makes it clear that He has always been in existence when He says the first and the last who is King over Israel. Then the Goel or Redeemer of Israel. He is the head of the Heavenly celestial beings. But as the Goel or Redeemer He has provided special situations for Israel and the Church.

God Pours out His Holy Spirit on Israel
God now brings the promise of blessings to Israel. Specifically, the repentant who are thirsty for their Messiah after so long of denying Him. Israel will undergo a national regeneration after the end of the Campaign of Armageddon. The Lord is making a promise to the patriarch Jacob. Although for most of Jewish history Jacob would have been ashamed of the waywardness of his descendants, when the national regeneration comes, he will be proud of them (Isaiah 29:22–24).
The regeneration will be a result of the judgments of the Great Tribulation, which will be God’s discipline upon the nation of Israel in order to correct them (Isaiah 30:18–22). It will be by way of the judgments of the Tribulation that Israel will come to a saving knowledge of her Messiah. It was God Who chose Israel from the very beginning. Israel has not yet fully become the chosen vessel of which she is destined and chosen to be. God will pour out His Spirit upon the entire nation (v. 3) with the result that Israel will begin to bear fruit (v. 4) and will remain ever loyal to her God (v. 5)

The Authority of Jesus Every Knee Will Bow
Philippians 2:10–11
10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (KJV).
In this verse from Philippians it says that the three realms of existence will bow down to Him. The three realms are:
Heavenly beings-who love and know who He is.
Earthly beings- who have a choice to know and love Him or not.
Demonic beings-who know who He is but do not love Him
Those who realize who Jesus is and love him, also adore, worship, and bow down to His majesty. Heavenly or celestial beings knew who Jesus was before He appeared on the earth. This is described in chapters 4 and 5 of the book of Revelation.Jesus Christ qualifies as the Goel, and these instances are described in the Old Testament Law (also called the Mosaic Law) Satan brought sin and death into this world. Satan committed premeditated, first-degree murder by taking both the spiritual and physical life of Adam and Eve, and of every human being born since the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve would have lived forever if they had not been tempted to sin by Satan. Because Jesus the Son was born as a human baby (which makes Him our brother), He is our kinsman and the avenger of blood for all who believe. He will completely destroy Satan who is the “manslayer “ of the human race. When Jesus died, if you believe in Him as your Savior, you are released from the death penalty of sin, just like the one who was able to flee to a City of Refuge and then able to go free after the death of the High Priest. So He fulfills the role of the High Priest & Avenger of Blood
