Description

I love music and started drumming when I was 14, with a pair of sticks on my mattress to the radio, until I was playing on a normal kit in my teens, beat for beat to rock radio in the 90s and listeners could not distinguish the sound. When I became an adult, at 19 in 2002 I had a traumatic brain injury diagnosed as severe. I was headed to see an old friend and speeding to head up into the mountains, and there was black ice at the bottom of a slight downslope. I flew off the road and missed a tree 15 from where I left, hitting the next about 20 feet from where I left, after landing about 6 feet before it. I was doing about 140-150 kph, the inspector reckoned. The collision was drivers side door first, and they found me curled upright in the center of the vehicle, between the two front seats, with blood soaking my shirt from a wound under my chin, and unconscious.

I was in a full coma for over 24 hrs and in and out for a couple of weeks after that. I was in occupational therapy for about four years after that until it was determined that I had plateaued, and then began my life of functioning with a constant hindrance that expresses itself in a number of ways. Drumming is not really one of those things though.

I love to dum, and make music with my body in various ways, and am venturing into devices to use for sequencing and whatnot. We'll see what my creative pursuits reveal. Thanks for giving me a listen!
