Independent and unembedded, citizen journalist and videographer Nydia Tisdale has been recognized for her work promoting open government by three organizations:

• Common Cause Georgia — 2014 Democracy Award

• Georgia First Amendment Foundation — 2015 Open Government Hero Award

• The Atlanta Press Club — 2017 Impact Award

Dubbed “Super Camera Woman” in a Cartoon Series in 2012, and “Georgia’s Most Notorious Citizen Journalist” by Columbia Journalism Review in 2016 — Nydia Tisdale became a member of The Atlanta Press Club in 2018.

#Nydeo is a contraction of “Nydia’s video” coined by an oft-filmed public official when he asked a constituent, “Have you watched the Nydeo yet?”
