What These Pilots did was Amazing! | British Airways flight 9
A Boeing 747-200 is cruising along at 37000 feet over the eastern Indian ocean when its suddenly engulfed in a huge ball of light. Seconds later the engines start failing, one after the other and the pilots have to desperately try to re-light them to avoid a ditching in the sea in complete darkness.
This is the increadible story of British Airways flight 009 and for this video I have invited captain Eric Moody himself (!!) to explain some details from the flight. Only here on the Mentour Pilot channel.

WHY did The Pilots CONTINUE?! Asiana flight 214
On the morning of July 6, 2013 a #boeing 777-200ER from #Asiana Airlines is on approach to runway 28L in #SanFrancisco. Everything seems fine in the cockpit as the aircraft descends down. It soon becomes apparent that #flight241 is too low on the glideslope but by the time the flight crew notices this, it's too late. Why did The pilots continue? Why was this not noticed sooner and why did the #autothrottle system not activate? Let's investigate...

How this Aircraft lost BOTH engines and landed!
On the 17th of January 2008 a Boeing 777 from British Airways, flight 38, was flying from Beijing, China to London Heathrow, United Kingdom.
On final approach to runway 27L, the aircraft lost thrust on both its Rolls Royce RB211 Trent 895-17 engines and the pilots were unable to regain thrust.
The aircraft crashed down 330m before the runway threshold and the right main gear separated, the left got pushed through the wing and the nose-gear collapsed. Of the 136 passengers and 16 crew, everybody survived the accident with one serious injury and several minor ones. A true miracle!
In this video, I will cover the causes behind this accident and what we can learn from it.

How YOU can land a passenger aircraft! 12 steps
What if a Passenger was the ONLY one left to land the plane? Could a passenger theoretically do it, without ANY previous knowledge or training?
In todays Special video, I will go through the required steps that will have to be taken in the cockpit in order to set the aircraft up for a safe auto-land. There will be around 20 different individual steps that needs to be taken and none of them can be omitted or done in the wrong order. This all depends on the passenger getting into contact with Air Traffic Control and being reasonably close to a suitable runway.
