Choosing Safety to Transform Your View of the World
In this video, I talk about the unconscious decision we make early in life to see the world as either safe or hostile. It’s a choice many of us aren't aware we've made, but it shapes how we experience the world every day. By recognizing this pattern, we can learn to shift our perspective and open ourselves to new possibilities. Watch, reflect, and share your thoughts in the comments! #TraumaRecovery #PersonalGrowth

Linkin Park - Breaking the Habit | Lessons from Psychedelic Therapy and Trauma Therapy
When we talk about psychedelic therapy or trauma therapy, we are talking about building a relationship with ourself. The word psychedelic roughly means soul manifesting. This connection to oneself is an essential step in the healing process.
In this video we talk about the self belief of not being good enough, the feelings associated with this belief, and the way we behave with this belief. For me, making this video actively required working with this belief. My beliefs of what I do never being good enough results in a form of perfectionism, an unattainable vision for what I do and create. While I do believe in putting heart and energy into everything I do, there was still a compromise of what is good enough for me.
After all, this is my first video where I wrote a script, practiced getting comfortable in front of the camera, and wrote and preformed all music in the video. So while I put in a lot of effort, I had to accept that this video will not reflect the perfect vision in my mind. And that is a part of the process, accepting where we are, putting in the practice and effort to move in the direction we want to go in.
Translating therapy into a video is hard! Not to mention, I chose an incredibly difficult video to start with.
Linkin Park, in my opinion is a group of genius musicians, and Breaking the Habit is a masterpiece. Additionally, this band has a sad story regarding the topics we discuss in this video. So I really wanted to produce a video that could reflect not just the concepts and approaches of my therapy practice, but to make a video that could also provide the respect and tribute to the outcome of the band’s end. I often found myself contemplating putting this video on hold and working on something else while I cultivate video making skills. Ultimately, I decided that Breaking the Habit would be a perfect catalyst to push me forward in developing the skills I want to cultivate.
Thank you for taking the time to watch this video. I hope that these messages and approaches provided introspection and ideally an outline for a path you may choose to walk. A teacher once told me that hard work is the sum of daily efforts—while there are things we can’t do now, putting in hard work is a path towards accomplishing these things, even if it is in a year, five years, or twenty years from now, we have to take steps so a version of us will be able to do the things we long to do. Small actions multiplied by millions of people over time sends shockwaves through the world we live in. Together we can take steps to create an experience where we live connected to ourselves, each other, with nature, and with what we do—all of which then representing who we truly are.
All music is composed and performed by Julian Bermudez.
