Feeding the Sea Lions Very Interesting Moment.
Sea lions are recreational animals that popularize almost every beach in the Islands. They are lying on sand, rock, grass and even tables and benches. They are adorable and they capture the hearts of locals and tourists alike. They are more like dogs in personality and behavior than any other animal.
These sea lions are actually a group of females and youngsters, including a huge male bull sea lion on Puerto Chino Beach on the island of San Cristobal. The Sea lion colonies are much like a harem, with an influential male and several females. He will chase any mature men, especially if they are not subdued. This regional behavior is about protecting her reproductive rights and food availability.
Sea lions are beautiful and loving and they seem friendly enough that anyone might be tempted to go to the right and try to pet or hug but they are certainly wild animals and they do not enjoy getting close to humans. In fact, the Galapagos Islands always have strict rules about maintaining a distance of 2 meters (6 feet). Baby sea lions often come to humans for food or affection, but touching one means certain death, because sea lion mothers will abandon their young if they have a human scent on them.
Enjoying this beautiful and funny creature from a safe distance is one of the most interesting parts of the Islands.
