Eagle Bike Park ~ Shake n' Mormon
00:00 - Took another lap with Rob and Aaron down Shake n' Bake. That first section (2 little rock drops and then the table top tech strip) is a tough one to get down. I always have to pull up off to the right side as I don't have enough speed to make it clean. When you come up short you land on some pretty sharp rocks. No bueno. Had to keep my foot on the gas to keep up with Rob!
02:07 - One of my last laps Fidel and I did Stormin Mormon. I needed to get my 'mojo' back on the Stormin Mormon drops. Last time I was there a couple weeks ago it was really windy and I shouldn't have gone for them. I did, but at the expense of coming off a bit sideways and taking an off road tour of the area! lol I've been a couple more times since, but the wind has not ceased and getting my redemption has been stuck in my craw. Felt good to get that little monkey off my back.
Fidel was able to hit the gap jump, but I was caught where it was still windy and felt like I was going to have to pedal hard to make it and didn't want to be right on top of him. So, I decided to play it smart and go around this time and watch Fidel set sail...

Eagle Bike Park ~ 4x The Flow
One of the more 'fun' days I've had at Eagle Bike Park. The weather was amazing and got to see plenty of faces. Lisa was having a blast with Vanessa and couldn't believe I wound up doing 24 miles. Since it stays light out here now until 9pm we can take our time after work and enjoy the time of day.
00:00 - Run #1 First time catching a few laps w/ Rob and Aaron. Look forward to getting out some more with these guys!
01:45 - Run #2 Met up with Fidel and Vanessa for the first time in a bit. Always fun chasing this guy down.
03:43 - Run #3 Fidel and Vanessa (following us) both had the chance to try out MTB ebikes for the first time. I think it's safe to say they both didn't think it sucked!
05:30 - Run #4 Caught up (i use that term loosely) with Cameron for a couple laps today too! Fidel and I both tried to keep up, but the dude can motor.

Watchmen Trail ~ "In every wood in every spring there is a different green."
First time out on Watchman and 3 Bears. TBH I can live without Watchman. I mean it's scenic and all, but just not what I consider to be fun! Couldn't have been more gorgeous and GREEN out. I do miss green...The Wildflowers were pretty sweet too! 🌼🌞

Eagle Bike Park ~ Stormin Mormon
Had an awesome ride with Lisa and Chuck today. Chuck and I both had a 'brown pants moment' almost simultaneously on Stormin Mormon.
I came off the first drop wonky AF. It was windy, my battery was low, gave one too many pedals and I should have just done the ride around. I was able to keep things together and go for a bit of an off road adventure.
Then as soon as I cleared my miscue. I thought I saw Chuck go OTB and sure enough that was the case. One of the turns caved in under his bike and just flung him over.
Fortunately we all walked away with just some ego bruises lol The rest of the run Chuck did terrific on. Really made me work to keep up!

Eagle Bike Park ~ First Laps On The Specialized Turbo Levo
***New Bike Day***
First laps on the Specialized Turbo Levo (ebike). 10 laps in 1hr 20min and laughing while I did it! 😁
Who says you can't get a great workout on an ebike? That's some nonsense right there. I burned over 1k cals in that time. I'll take that all day everyday.
Lisa and I can't wait to get up in the hills for some big rides and still have something left.

Eagle Bike Park ~ Hell Mary (Split Screen)
Lisa took some video of me finishing up the line on Hell Mary. Thought I'd try out the 'Split Screen' feature that my editing software has available. Interesting piecing the clips together to make sure they are even/balanced. Takes a bit of time, but something I'll try again in the future!

I'd be curious to see how many MTB riders actually ride down LHG on an even day 🤔

Eagle Bike Park ~ Let's Go Ball Riding!
Story of the day is Lisa on her new Turbo Levo...Thing is insane! Also, first time getting a rip in with the Duster since last August was sweet. Lisa got 3 more laps in than Dylon and I and laughing while she did it! She had a great time on the new ride which is most important. Can't wait to get mine...Giddy up!

Lower Hulls Gulch ~ Play Stupid Games, Win Stupid Prizes
Awesome first day after work blast! Had to give a couple 'the business' on the trail since odd number days are for DH ONLY! I can understand if you truly don't know or make a mistake, but when you throw your arms up in the air and then keep going, well then you're just an ass and I'll tell you about it!
Great I heard at least 3 others coming down telling them what's up as well. Lord knows if I decided to do a DH on an even day I'd get the 3rd degree from some lunatics so fair play and rightfully so.
I like the 'alternate' day rule that has now been permanently put in place BUT clearly we as trail goers are going to have to enforce it or else schmucks will just keep playing stupid games to win stupid prizes! lol

Boise Bike Park ~ Getting Closer
Getting real close to doing the full blue line. Practiced elongating the smaller wooden jumps to get accustomed to staying in the air a bit longer and keeping the nose up a beat.
Also started hitting the alternate steeper 'lips' on the blue line doubles after the first wall ride. If I did one I usually didn't have the speed to hit the 2nd so I'd alternate between the right and the left.

Boise Bike Park ~ Getting Loose
First time at the BBP this season. Just a great place to loosen up, practice some jumps and have some fun! Met a real nice kid "Carson". I see good things ahead for that young man. Guy can send too! 🤘
Thanks to the boys at Joyride Cycles. Appreciate them getting our rigs ready to roll this season! 🤙

Eagle Bike Park ~ First Day Back On The Bike in 2022
Had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Kyle Warner and April Zastrow. I am a fan as much or more of things that Kyle can do on the bike as the way he faces the 'challenges' off it...Keep using your voice it continues to make a difference!
SWIMBA (SW Idaho Mountain Biking Assoc.) also did a fund-raising event and raffle. We became members which also gave us entries into the 'raffle'. We usually never win squat, but as fate would have it. We won 4 out of our 5 entries plus got a couple cool things just for becoming members. We won T-shirts, 6 tickets to Bogus Basin bike park and an RC car! 🤘 Needless to say we're playing the lottery tonight as well. 😂
While Fidel and I got some laps in Lisa and Vanessa did a little hike around the park. Felt great to get back on the bike for the first time this season. Pretty windy which was fine since it kept me in check so I can get comfortable again on the bike.
Then I bumped into my friend Adam who I haven't seen in over a year. Looking forward to getting out with him and Chris over the course of the season as well.

2021-22 Ski Season Highlights ~ Idaho (Quickie)
When I look back over the footage of the ski season. I just relish the times we were able to get out and enjoy the slopes.
A total of 23 days on the hill. My goal was 40, but with some things popping up here and there 23 is what I got. Set a goal and do your best to achieve it, which I did. Enjoy the process.
We met new people, tried new things (snowboarding), progressed, spent time with friends and even took out some 'first timers'!
Already have my season pass for the 2022-23 season and realize there are some things I do need to work on a bit more diligently "pre-season" to improve on this years performance...Looking forward to it already!

Bogus Basin Ski Resort ~ Fidel Follies
Had the privilege to introduce the sport of 'skiing' to our friends Fidel and Vanessa today.
Congrats to them for stepping out and allowing me and Lisa to guide them in their first steps.
My main goal for them was to learn and have FUN! I believe we accomplished that.
Thank you Fidel for some comic relief that you can only achieve your first day on the mountain!

Brundage Ski Resort ~ Making Turns w/ Dave, Brandy and Lisa
We pretty much covered most of the mountain today! Brundage is such a sweet spot. You can see there are so many places where you can just 'drop in' when the conditions are right. Really had a blast w/ the group today and watching them ski/board.
Have two tickets left this season. Hope we're able to use them within the next couple weeks. Keeping fingers crossed we get another dump or two and finish up the season with a banger!

Brundage Ski Resort ~ Potato Buds
Great to catch up with Dave & Brandy. They both rip! Snow was sticky and heavy, but fun 🤘 Lisa is making progress 👍
Still nursing my knee and lower back just hasn't been right which keeps me a on edge (no pun intended). This is the type of snow that gets knees wrenched.
Hope we can get 1 or 2 more dumps to ski off into the sunset for the season...30 days is still in reach!

Bogus Basin Ski Resort ~ Blue Bird at Bogus
Still nursing a knee from last weeks boarding. Really dodged a bullet with that one. That's the one thing when you go down on the board there is no release mechanism. Kinda blows
Was very careful today and just enjoyed the gorgeous blue bird day and got some solid laps in on Superior Chair.
Just a few more weeks left. Want to get as much in as I can!

Bogus Basin Ski Resort ~ Bumpin On The Board
Had to give some moguls a try on the NS board before the season ends.
Since I know the physics quite well on skis. I can foresee being able to move through them smoothly in another season or two. If I put in the vertical/practice time.
6in of new snow over the past day or so and sunshine. Great day!

Bogus Basin Ski Resort ~ 3rd Time Out On The NS Board
Considering we really haven't gotten any snow since early January (Blows). I still had a great time on the board for what it was.
Being a beginner I use this time to focus on my edges, turns and fluidity/relaxing. Some people find this part of the process hard. They want it NOW. I relish improving bit by bit and looking back a year or two from now and seeing the results and appreciating the journey.

Mountain Creek (Bike Park) ~ Alpine, Upper Deviant, Salvation
Couple of my favorite runs at MC bike park. Alpine with the wall rides is so exhilarating. No room for error or hesitation there. Deviant is just a blast beginner jump line that never disappoints. Salvation (Dominion) is the expert jump line and if I would have hung around definitely would have completed that in 2020.

Not much I miss about being back east, but I must admit if/when I do go back for a visit. I will most definitely be paying a visit to this place.
Plus, listening to one of the best guitar solos by one of the best bands in Rock & Roll history doesn't hurt either!
