Oxnard California. April 28th, 2023. Michael Owens, a 24-year-old man who was armed with a knife and had barricaded himself in a communal bathroom at the Ventura County Rescue Mission apartments was shot and killed by Oxnard police.
The incident occurred after firefighters at the scene had sought assistance with an “uncooperative subject” who had reportedly been getting aggressive and had been cutting himself on his left wrist with a knife on the balcony.
During the encounter, Owens can be seen in the video exiting the bathroom with a knife and approaching Garcia. As Owens appeared to ignore Garcia’s commands, and continued to advance toward him the officer fired his handgun striking Owens multiple times. He dropped his knife following the flurry of bullets. Owens can be seen falling and screaming, then getting up aggressively while covered in blood. After getting to his feet, Owens can be seen attempting to grab the officer’s gun as he shouts: “Give me the gun”. Garcia again shoots Owens during the ensuing physical struggle. Owens was pronounced dead at the hospital soon after but it's clear he was gone before he hit the floor.
The Oxnard Police Department released video and audio containing body-worn camera footage from the shooting officer, 9 1 1 calls from Owens himself, as well as security camera footage from the apartments where the incident occurred.
It's never explicitly stated in any reports but in my opinion it's reasonable to believe based off of where he was staying at that he was homeless and or addicted to substances. A quote from the housing facility's website states. "Since 1972, the Ventura County Rescue Mission has been serving the poor and homeless, offering hope to thousands of hurting people. The mission provides a full range of services to help the most vulnerable members of our community break free from poverty, homelessness, and addiction".
Aside from that information, very little is known about Owens personal life or prior dealings with law enforcement if any involvement at all. After many hours of research, I was not able to find a single picture, a social media account, or an obituary in relation to Michael Owens.

North Hollywood, California. December 23, 2021. A police officer shot and killed two people, one of them a 14-year-old girl, at a Burlington store.
The shooting occurred around 11:50 a.m. local time, when the police responded to a 9 1 1 call from a store employee who reported that a man was attacking customers with a bike lock and reportedly had a firearm. The man was later identified as Daniel Elena-Lopez, 24, who had a history of mental illness, homelessness, and criminal charges including battery and fleeing police. The police encountered Lopez near the entrance of the store. He then runs up the escalator and finds and attacks a lone woman who was shopping. After officers located Lopez on the second floor, an officer, who was armed with a rifle, fired three shots at Lopez, hitting him in the chest and killing him.
One of the bullets fired at Lopez reportedly bounced off the floor, penetrated a wall and struck a 14-year-old girl who was hiding in a dressing room with her mother. The girl was later identified as Valentina Orellana-Peralta, who had moved to the U.S. from Chile with her family six months prior to the incident. She had dreams of becoming an American citizen and an engineer. She was also looking forward to seeing LeBron James play basketball in person. Valentina was remembered as a happy teen with many friends who loved sports and excelled in school. Her father, Juan Pablo Orellana Larenas, said he and her mother will never get over the devastation of losing Valentina so violently. Valentina was pronounced dead at the scene from a gunshot wound to the chest. Directly after the shooting you can hear Valentinas mothers devastated screams in the bodycam footage. The woman who was attacked by Lopez on the second floor suffered injuries and was treated at a hospital.
The shooting officer, William Dorsey Jones Junior was placed on administrative leave pending an investigation. The LAPD released body-camera footage which showed that other officers had urged the shooting officer to "slow down" before he opened fire. The footage also showed that Lopez did not have a firearm and that the officers did not attempt to use less-lethal force or de-escalate the situation. The Police Commission ruled that Jones was justified in firing once but that his two subsequent shots were out of policy.
The shooting sparked outrage and grief among the families of the victims, the community, and civil rights activists, who demanded justice and accountability for the officer's actions. The LAPD Chief Michel Moore expressed his condolences and apologized for the loss of Orellana-Peralta's life, calling it "tragic and devastating" for everyone involved. According to reports records also document the police chief’s attempts to use the legal system to block the release of body-worn camera footage of the shooting.
This is not the first time that the LAPD has been involved in controversial shootings that resulted in civilian deaths. In 2015, an officer shot and killed an unarmed homeless man named Charly Keunang on Skid Row. In 2018, an officer shot and killed an unarmed Trader Joe's employee named Melyda Corado during a hostage situation. In both cases, the officers were not charged with any crimes.
The Los Angeles Police Department has promised a “thorough, complete and transparent investigation” into the incident.

On the evening of May 30, 2022, Matthew Todhunter, age 33, was dropping off his son at his wife’s house in the Mill Valley neighborhood, just north of Marysville, Ohio. There, he got into a domestic dispute with his wife and pulled out a gun, which later turned out to be a BB gun that looked like a Glock-style handgun. He pointed the gun at his wife and other people in the house, including children, and told his son that, quote “this is the night Daddy is going to die”. He also said he was drunk and wanted to die.
Several 9 1 1 calls were made from the house, alerting the authorities about the situation. The first person to arrive at the scene was Deputy Jacob Matejko of the Union County Sheriff’s Office. Matejko spotted Matthew sitting in a white truck with tinted windows outside the house. He ordered him to put his hands up and get out of the car multiple times. Matthew finally complied, but then pointed the gun at Matejko. Within one second, Matejko fired at least five shots at Matthew, hitting him in the chest. Matthew fell to the ground and according to official reports was pronounced dead at a local hospital although it's clear from the video that he died on the scene pretty much immediately.
After the shooting, one of the women who was with Matthew Todhunter yelled at Matejko that it was a BB gun. However, Mateyko had no way of knowing that at the time, as the gun looked very realistic. The dashcam and bodycam footage of the incident confirmed that Matejko acted in self-defense and followed proper protocol. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation also ruled that Matthew Todhunter was suicidal and that his death was caused by quote “law enforcement forced action”.
Matts brother, who is a police officer, said that Matthew had a long history of drug and alcohol-related criminal charges. Matts brother also said our thoughts should be with the police and E M S that were at the scene and not just his brother.
During my research i was able to locate Matts obituary. Matthew Todhunter's obituary reads as follows.
Matthew Ryan Todhunter, age 33, of Marysville, went to be with Jesus, Monday, May 30th, 2022. A diesel mechanic, he was an associate of Virginia Transport and a former associate of Kirk National Lease. A 2007 graduate of Marysville High School, he received a diesel mechanic certification from T D D S Technical Institute. Among his many talents with mechanics, he helped Leesburg Township Fire Department with truck maintenance. He was a skilled baseball player and youth baseball coach, was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and Pittsburgh Steelers (just like his father) and liked playing all sports. Deeply patriotic, he also enjoyed all kinds of music, especially country. With his own special relationship with God, Matt was known to help out any stranger. Above all, he was a beloved father, husband, son, brother and uncle. He was known as a great “hands-on” dad. He adored his son and was his son’s hero. His son inherited his daddy’s beautiful brown eyes and gorgeous long eyelashes. Matt’s smile would light up a room. He always made activities with loved ones and friends more fun and exciting. He was born July 16th, 1988 in Marysville and was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife, his son, his mother, his step-mother, his siblings, his brother-in-law, his mother-and-father-in-law, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends that loved him.
Do you think the officers were justified in their actions? Comment below.

April 15th, 2023, Reginald Clay Junior, 24 years old was shot and unalived by Chicago police. The incident began when two officers engaged a group of individuals in the 38 hundred block of West Flournoy Street while patrolling to crack down on gang activity in the area. They observed Clay leaning into a vehicle on the street. As the officers exited their vehicle, Clay began to walk away. Clay then ran and was pursued on foot by two officers. Clay then fled through a gangway and into a backyard and then into another gangway with no ability to exit. Left with no other options Clay turned back to exit the gangway, in the direction of the officers. After getting close to the officers, he reached in his waistband and pulled out a firearm which led to one officer discharging their weapon striking him multiple times. Reginald Clay Junior succumbed to his injuries very soon after. Clay was in possession of a firearm, which was recovered on scene. It's unclear if he was going to use the firearm against the police or if he was going to drop it on the ground. He had a Concealed carry permit and was within his second amendment rights to be carrying his firearm but pulling it out in close quarters of a police officer is never a good idea. Media outlets ran with the story that he was shot in the back four times while running away but in actuality he was shot 4 times after pulling the firearm while running toward the officers. The bodycam is silent for the first 30 seconds after being activated so its hard to see how many times he was shot but he was leaking following the visible flurry of bullets. The bodycam wasn't released for a couple weeks after the incident and protests were planned and held during that time demanding justice for "lil red", Reginald's alias. The media painted him as a gentle, law-abiding citizen and devoted father but the social media videos and pics I found paint a slightly different story.

Meyvic Arreola
On July 25th, 20 23, around 11:09 a.m., officers received a radio call of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 76 hundred block of Reseda Boulevard in Reseda, California. The initial incident was caught on video in which Meyvic Arreola, walks around a parking lot threatening to cut himself and in general just menacing around. He then enters a convenience store following a customer and proceeds to engage in a fight in the store and tries to cut a man. Multiple bystanders see what's happening and jump in to help get the maniac off of the victim and try to remove the boxcutter from his hands. This fight disintegrates soon after and we see Meyvic leave the store and begin to violently harass the same man he started the fight with inside. Upon arrival the officers see the suspect on top of the victim holding a knife. The officers attempt verbal compliance and order Meyvic to drop the knife, but he failed to comply with the officers' commands. The officers then fire a 40 millimeter less than lethal round at Meyvic. All reports that i found failed to mention that when the 40 millimeter less than lethal round was deployed it failed to strike Meyvic and instead landed squarely in the left ribcage of the victim being attacked. A literal insult to injury situation.
Meyvic threatened to cut himself and then turned the knife again on his victim and began to stab him. One police officer opened fire. The suspect was struck by gunfire with one of the two bullets hitting him in the head. He immediately collapsed and started moaning. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded and pronounced the suspect dead at the scene. The victim suffered serious injuries from the knife attack including multiple lacerations and was taken to the hospital expected to make a full recovery.
The boxcutter used in the attack was booked as evidence. The reason and circumstances surrounding the attack on the victim is still being investigated and through all my research i was not able to uncover any relation between them aside from that day's interactions. Meyvic was described as a male Hispanic in his 20s or 30s. In actuality he is 44 years old and a resident of Los Angeles. No officers were injured during this incident aside from the pride of the officer who 40 millimetered the victim in the ribcage.
He seems to have some criminal record on account of a mugshot finally being released but I came up short on what he had been charged with in the past. I researched extensively but was unable to turn up any social media pics, obituary or really any information regarding this suspect indicating his internet presence was little to none at all. If any more information is uncovered i will update it in the description. You'll now see and hear the entirety of the 9 1 1 call, c c t v videos, dash cam footage, bodycam recordings and cell phone video relating to this incident. Viewer discretion is advised.

At the time of the incident, Tyler Green and his fiancé, who we will call Kate, were the parents of a nearly two-year-old boy. On April 6, 2021, Kate, her sister, and Kate and Tylers child were visiting Tyler at his home in Oneonta. Because of violent threats made by Tyler, Kate's sister left the home and secretly drove to the Oneonta Police Department to tell them of her fears for her sister and the child's safety. Members of the Oneonta Police Department decided to conduct a welfare check on the child. While on their way to Tylers home, they received a dispatch that Tyler had allegedly threatened to stab his fiancé with a knife.
Two officers arrived at the home to see Tyler, Kate, and their child in the front yard. As soon as Tyler saw the officers at his home he pulled a knife from his pocket, lunged at his fiancé Kate, and threatened to Unalive her. The officers drew their guns and instructed Tyler to drop the knife. Tyler then grabbed and cut Kate's leg with the knife and swung the knife at one of the officers. Kate then threw her child to the ground to but neglected to retrieve him following her getting cut which left the child vulnerable to the knife wielding maniac.
Tyler then grabbed his two-year old son by the leg and yanked him toward him. As he began to swing the knife at the child, one of the officers fired two shots striking him in the back causing Tyler significant pain along with severe internal bleeding. Tyler immediately released his hold on the child. Officers called an ambulance and provided care to Tyler before it arrived. Tyler Green was initially transported to a local hospital, but that hospital was not equipped to treat him, so he was in the process of being transported by helicopter to another hospital when he was pronounced dead.
From the Information I gathered it seems that Kate lost custody of her and Tylers son very soon after this incident and their son is now living a seemingly happy life with Tylers mother.
I was also able to find Tyler Greens obituary during my research.
Obituary
Tyler Green, 23, Oneonta, died at Albany Medical Center, on Tuesday, April 6, 2021.
Tyler is survived by his mother, his son, his sisters, his niece, his aunt, and his grandmother. He is predeceased by his father, and grandfather.
Tyler was born Oct. 13, 1997, in Cooperstown, NY. He graduated from the School of the Northeast in June 2016 and went on to serve his country in the Army National Guard.
Tyler was a son, brother, father and friend. From the time Tyler could walk, he was interested in learning how things worked. He was known to “tinker” around the house. He enjoyed using his knowledge and skills to help and serve others. He was always happy to lend a hand, from yard work to home improvement. Tyler would pitch in whenever he could. Tyler will be greatly missed for his sense of humor and his sincere, loving, and kind nature.

A woman called 9 1 1 shortly after 3 p.m. on May 19, 20 23, to report that her brother, later identified as David Gaylor, 42 years old, informed her he purchased a rope and was planning on killing himself. Gaylor told his sister that if she arrived at his apartment, he would kill her as well. Gaylor’s sister provided his address, 25 25 Tingley drive southwest. She also said Gaylor was diagnosed as having schizoaffective and bipolar disorder.
Officers were dispatched to that location. One of the officers, who is trained in enhanced crisis intervention, spoke with Gaylor’s sister by phone to get more information about the situation. The officer requested a Mobile Crisis Unit, but there were no units available.
Officers attempted to make contact with Gaylor at his apartment, but he refused to answer the door. Officers tried speaking with Gaylor through the closed door and through an open window in the back of the apartment. One of his sisters male friends was there as well to try to mediate the situation.
As officers walked toward the front door for a second time, Gaylor opened the door, turned the corner and lunged at the closest officer with a 6-foot pole with a knife taped to the end. The officer drew his handgun as he backed away from Gaylor and ordered Gaylor to drop the makeshift spear.
As Gaylor stepped toward the first officer, he noticed the other two officers to his right, in the breezeway. They also stepped back and drew lethal and less-lethal weapons. Gaylor eventually turned his attention to those officers and advanced toward them, as they told him to drop his weapon.
One of the officers attempted to utilize his Taser, using Close Quarter Cartridges. He deployed the Taser two times but it had no affect. The first two probes impacted Gaylor, but the second deployment did not have any connection. When the Taser was deployed, Gaylor began to swipe his makeshift spear to cut the leads.
Gaylor continued to advance toward the two officers with his weapon, and both officers fired their handguns. Gaylor was struck by the gunfire multiple times. Officers and rescue personnel attempted lifesaving measures, but Gaylor died as a result of his wounds.
I reached out to some people close to David but they did not want to make any comments regarding the situation or talk about David on a personal level. I found one post speaking personally of David from one of his friends. Quote. These people were the people who were most special to us and David Gaylor is right there on the far right. 30 years after the first time we skated together behind the Albertsons in Hobbs. He made Jr High survivable and was there for my first psychedelic experience. He came to see me every year for awhile and even more often the last few years since "redacted" and I met. He was always selfless and would never ask for anything for himself. He would come to the cup or to visit and get high as fuck on some good weed and then get real quiet and chill. I'm going to miss our times having a beer and a joint and just talking. He was the most gentle and kindest person I ever knew and would have given anyone the shirt off of his back. He was one of my oldest and dearest friends and was truly like a brother to me over the years. We will miss you so much brother.

The Austin Police Department continues to investigate the officer-involved shooting that occurred on Thursday, July 20, 20 23. At approximately 4:54 a.m., Austin 9-1-1 Communications received a call describing a female banging on an apartment door stating a man was chasing her in the 36 hundred block of Menchaca Road and requesting police. The caller described a white female wearing blue jean shorts and a turquoise top. The caller said the female was sitting outside his door.
At 4:55 a.m., APD officers were dispatched to the call location, and at approximately 5:00 a.m., they arrived on the scene and began speaking with the female who matched the description in the 9-1-1 call. The female said a man was chasing her through the apartment complex, and he had a knife. The female described the male subject "James Allen Woodrome" as a six foot three inches tall, 60-year-old man with gray hair who was last seen wearing navy blue or black basketball shorts with a dark shirt.
At approximately 5:03 a.m., officers communicated over the police radio the man was last observed running west through the apartment complex.
At approximately 5:06 a.m., Mr. Woodrome approached the officers in the parking lot of the apartment complex while they were speaking to the female. The male subject walked toward the officer while holding a knife in his hands. Officers began to give commands to Mr. Woodrome to drop the knife.
Officers attempted to de-escalate the situation by continuously giving commands to Mr. Woodrome. He did not comply with the commands and repeatedly yelled at the officers to shoot and kill him. He was very recently criminally charged for a separate offense and was set to serve 3 years in prison for the possession of cannabis with a quantity of less than 2000 pounds and greater than 50 pounds which may have contributed to his agitated and crazed actions that night.
One officer deployed a Department issued taser, but the taser deployment was ineffective. Mr. Woodrome moved forward in the direction of the officers. Officers continued commands to drop the knife and walk backward, creating more distance between them. Officers also requested the female stay back. Another officer deployed a Department issued taser a second time, and it did not affect the suspect. Mr. Woodrome continued to walk toward them with the knife in his hand. One officer then discharged his Department approved firearm toward Mr. Woodrome, at which point he fell to the ground.
A knife was located on the ground next to the suspect. Officers then moved the knife away from him.
Once the scene was made safe by removing the knife, the officers immediately performed life-saving measures and requested medical assistance at the scene. Mr. Woodrome succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene at 5:19 a.m. No other civilians or officers sustained physical injuries.
The APD officer that discharged the Department approved firearm has three years and five months of service with the Department. One of the officers who deployed a Department issued taser has 13 years and three months of service, and the other officer that deployed a department-issued taser has eight months of service with the Austin Police Department. Per APD protocol, all three officers have been placed on administrative leave. This incident was captured on three officers' body-worn cameras.

Rachael Anne Marie Ellis, at 32 years old was killed on July fourteenth, 20 23 from an officer involved shooting in a residential apartment complex. The complex is located on Pioneers Way in orlando florida.
The name of the woman was made public on Monday by the Orlando police department. The shooting occurred when officers say she charged at them while wielding two knives.
A representative of the agency stated that officers responded to a 911 call that was placed by a man who claimed that his girlfriend was threatening to hurt herself and that she was in possession of a knife.
She had also been talking to a police crisis negotiation team which arrived by the time she hung up the phone the first time, and they were communicating with her over the phone during the duration of the incident. The police say that Ellis first walked back into the flat, then exited the room with one weapon, then returned with a second knife and rushed the policeman.
Two cops, both of whom have been trained in the management of crisis situations, discharged their firearms and struck the woman multiple times. Both of these officers have received training in the management of crisis circumstances. Medical personnel who were present at the scene confirmed that Ellis had passed away.
I was not able to locate any obituaries and her and her boyfriend's social media profiles have been locked down aside from the pictures I was able to gather so information about her personal life is scant.

NAPLES, Fla. — The family of River Rosenquist, the man who had his arm mauled by a tiger at the Naples Zoo, has released a statement regarding the incident.
Rosenquist was hospitalized after he jumped a barrier at the Naples Zoo and stuck his arm into the tiger enclosure, prompting Eko, the 8-year-old rare Malayan tiger, to latch onto him. Eko died after being shot by a Collier County deputy in an effort to get the tiger to let go of Rosenquist.
Rosenquist’s family released a statement to ABC News regarding the incident.
“In the wake of this tragic event, the Rosenquist family retained Attorneys Rita Jackman and Diana Castrillon with Powell, Jackman, Stevens & Ricciardi, P.A., to assist with navigating through the uncertainties they have been facing over the past several weeks.
At this time there is an ongoing investigation upon which we cannot comment. River Rosenquist does remain hospitalized currently in stable condition. River and his family relay their most heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in saving his life from the police officers and first responders, to the doctors, nurses, and medical personnel.
Miraculously, and contrary to some media coverage and investigative reports, the incredibly talented medical team at Lee Memorial Hospital were successful in avoiding amputation to River’s severely damaged arm. While River’s recovery is unknown, the family remains steadfast in their faith for his future improvement on the long road ahead.
River’s mental health and recovery continue to be our primary focus and we remain thankful for the respect and privacy everyone has allowed the family to have during this difficult process.”
Family of River Rosenquist
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission released the full report on the incident on Wednesday. In the report, officers noted that a nurse told investigators that she smelled alcohol on Rosenquist when he was being treated.
Rosenquist refused to speak to deputies following the attack and referred them to his attorney.
Rosenquist had been hired to clean the gift shop and bathrooms at the Naples Zoo and crossed into an area that he was not authorized to be in, zoo officials said.

The hatchet that authorities say was wielded by a man before he was shot and killed by Orange County sheriff’s deputies Wednesday morning. (Orange County Sheriff’s Department)
Two Orange County sheriff’s deputies shot and killed a hatchet-wielding man they suspected was breaking into a home in Midway City on Wednesday morning, authorities said.
Sheriff’s officials said deputies were called to the 14000 block of Van Buren Street in a residential area near Westminster Memorial Park and Mortuary a little before 5 a.m.
There, two deputies shot to death a man inside a home.
The Sheriff’s Department did not disclose any other details, including the age of the deceased, his actions or that of deputies leading up to the incident or the number of shots fired.
The department said the initial call was to investigate a report of someone “breaking into a house and vandalizing property.”
“From what I know, the suspect was armed with a hatchet,” said Sgt. Mike Woodroof, Orange County sheriff’s public information officer. “Whatever behavior preceded the shooting is being reviewed by the district attorney investigators.”
The man was declared dead at the scene by Orange County firefighters.
Parts of the block where the shooting took place were temporarily closed due to the investigation.

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. — Chilling moments captured on body camera video show the ending of a chase-turned-shootout that left a Pinellas County deputy injured and a 23-year-old man dead.
The video was released Thursday morning by Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri during a news conference. The video, which was blurred and edited by the agency, provides added context to the timeline of the shooting the sheriff's office previously released.
The shooting, which the state attorney's office later ruled justified, happened on March 12. Sergeant Jacob Viano and K-9 Corporal Matthew Aitken, with K-9 Taco, were chasing 23-year-old Zion Bostick, who was accused of trying to break into several cars.
Bostick reportedly ran behind a local church and continued through the woods into a Pinellas Park neighborhood, located in the area of 60th Avenue North and 64th Street North. That's when Aitken and Taco, assisted by Viano, began to track him.
Pinellas County deputy discharged from hospital after being shot 3 times.
Body camera shows the moment when Taco alerted Aitken he had gotten a possible lead on Bostick on the other side of a tall fence.
Taco scaled the fence with Aitken right behind him. Aitken's body camera shows Taco almost immediately start moving toward a house, then you can hear Aitken yelling for someone to put their hands up as he and Taco start running toward the building.
Shots are fired, and Aitken goes down.
Gualtieri explains Taco had spotted Bostick hiding behind the corner of a home. Bostick then ducked back behind the home, leading Aitken and Taco to assume a pursuit. But it was an ambush, the sheriff said. Bostick, instead of doing what many criminals do and run away, Gualtieri said, waited behind the house with his gun in his hand and began shooting at Aitken.
Aitken was shot in the neck, hand and leg and "immediately" went down, the sheriff said.
From Viano's body camera, you can see just after Aitken and Taco go over the fence, he tried to go around the fence for a moment before quickly deciding to also scale the fence, too. That moment of hesitation, Gualtieri said, may have been exactly what kept both officers alive.
The sheriff explained it gave Viano enough time to get over the fence and get to the ground when Bostick turned his gun from Aitken to Viano. After several shots were fired by Bostick, Viano was able to return fire, ultimately shooting the fatal shot that killed Bostick.
Gualtieri added Aitken had not and didn't want to see the video footage of the shooting. The sheriff added the agency would not release the raw video due to the graphic nature of some parts. This includes video of deputies and first responders giving CPR and live-saving aid to Aitken at the scene.
Both the sheriff, sergeant and corporal all credited K-9 Taco as also being an integral part of finding Bostick and distracting him enough for Viano to return fire.
"This is where things lined up for the good guys, in some good and unexplainable way. . . a significant factor and hero in saving Corporal Aitkens' life and allowing Sergeant Viano to avoid being shot is K-9 Taco," Gualtieri said. "K-9 handlers train a lot with their dogs for the gunshot scenario but one never really knows how the K9 is going to react in a real situation.
"Here, K-9 Taco reacted exactly how he was trained and upon Corporal Aitken being shot, K-9 Taco immediately engaged Bostick."
Aitken said he is recovering and hopes to be back on the job in about six months. He and Taco will be reunited Friday, he added.
