Givenchy’s Fall-Winter 2022 Collection at Paris Fashion Week
March 2022 - Paris, France - At the sprawling La Défense venue, which is one the largest in Europe, Matthew M. Williams’s second runway presentation for the luxury house, seemed more focused and to the point that in the past.
Bader Studios Europe was on the media riser to see the street wear collection unveiled with the mindset to be seen and purchased on the spot which is the theme of these shows.
As a former creative director in the music industry, Williams expresses himself by using music videos inside concert venues, where he feels he connects better with his audience
“It’s just about today. My work is really instinctual,” Williams said. He made that point clear by wearing black fabric gloves backstage and for his bow on stage. “With Covid, people have been wearing masks, so I’ve been exploring these balaclavas and gloves for that reason. It’s almost a new archetype people are using in their daily lives. In America, a lot of the kids of friends I know wear them.”
Williams went on to say, “I really wanted to create a synthesis of powerful, sophisticated femininity, with an interplay of multiple American and Parisian influences, sports and craftsmanship. Next to her stands a contemporary man with an instinct for chic nonchalance. On the runway, both are grounded by a sense of reality.”
What caught our eye with the collection was the introduction of the TK 360 sneaker, which helps build Givenchy’s growing footwear lineup. The shoe expresses a dress form dressed with sporty feel encouraging the possibilities of the entire shoe collection.

NYC VIBE with the Designer Who Invents New Outfits While Reinventing Himself - In Earnest!
September 2021 - Lower East Side, NYC:
We first met Byron Lars back in 1991 when he was named “Rookie of the Year” by Women’s Wear Daily.
Now more than 30 years later, and in the midst of a global pandemic, Lars is up to something again.
NYC VIBE sat down with the trendy designer to learn more about the In Earnest collection, which is inspired by Lars’s Harlem neighborhood, particularly the African street vendors and the treasures they sell on the street.
The native Californian reflects on designing clothes now for the business community still working from home but yearning to go out at night - on his many dresses worn by First Lady Michelle Obama and a career within a career designing a generation of Barbie girls that was the talk of the nation.
As a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Lars met the legendary Karl Lagerfeld at a fashion competition in Monte Carlo that changed his life and firmed up his commitment to the fashion industry.
Byron told us that casual everyday clothes are what American culture is about, and certainly in African American culture too. Historically it was about making a silk purse out of a sow’s ear, and I’m sure the lineage of that somehow expresses itself in what he is doing.”
NYC VIBE saw this first hand at the recent StylePointe Fashion Show during NY Fashion Week.

Rise Hosts NYFW Show Spotlighting Survivors’ Rights & Celebrating All Who Advocate for Survivors
September 2021 - New York City:
Rise, a civil rights accelerator that empowers everyday citizens to pen their own rights into existence, hosted its first ever fashion show dedicated to sexual assault survivors at the Museum of Modern Art, drawing attention to the rights of sexual assault survivors and celebrate those who advocate for survivors worldwide.
The big news of the evening was Rise Founder and CEO Amanda Nguyen telling NYC VIBE at the inaugural event that a new United Nations resolution championed by Rise was introduced by Sierra Leone that seeks to enshrine access to justice for sexual assault survivors worldwide would be introduced during the United Nations General Assembly.
The fashion show claimed the phrase: “What Were You Wearing.” In fashion, this question celebrates identity, creativity, and influence. For survivors of sexual assault, it’s used to blame them for the violence that happened to them. In one context this question is empowering; in the other, it takes away survivors’ agency. Through Rise’s fashion show, sexual assault survivors will be able to reclaim this phrase.

Rich Little in his NYC Theatrical Debut: “Trial on the Potomac, The Impeachment of Richard Nixon”
NYC VIBE was invited by master mimic Rich Little to watch rehearsals for his just opened Broadway play: “Trial on the Potomac, The Impeachment of Richard Nixon”
This marks Rich Little’s Broadway debut for this limited run performance
Rich Little has mastered more than 200 voice impressions throughout his career, including U.S. Presidents: John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, both George Bushes, Barack Obama, Donald Trump and is now working on perfecting Joe Biden.
Rich Little has a voice for every administration. Infamous for his skewering of political figures, Little has charmed, amused, intrigued and entertained politicians from here to his native Canada. He entertained at both of Reagan's presidential inaugurations and got to know the Reagans very well during that time. President Reagan used to tell Little, “You do me better than I do.”
The play uncovers real-life findings, newly discovered evidence revealing a conspiracy to destroy the Nixon presidency.
The concept is a powerful one and these are the questions answered in George Bugatti's play-based on the book, “The Real Watergate Scandal,” by Geoff Shepard, a lawyer who worked in the Nixon White House during the Watergate scandal. Like the book that inspired it, the play brings to light Shepard's real-life findings, newly discovered evidence revealing a conspiracy to destroy the Nixon presidency. Bugatti's play, starring the legendary Rich Little in the dramatic role of Nixon, takes these revelations and puts them on trial, with new evidence and documents.
He has spent much of his career researching Watergate issues and is today the foremost authority on behind-the-scenes developments, both at the White House and the Watergate Special Prosecution Force, as the scandal unfolded.
He has written three books, given dozens of lectures, and written dozens of essays. He is technical consultant to this stage play.
As for the audience, they will make up their own minds after hearing and seeing the evidence!

Hosted by Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® (BSBF), with baseball legend Mariano Rivera serving as emcee, the Bright Smiles Kids Awards unleashed the creativity of children aged 6-14 and encouraged them to become champions of their own health.
Videos from the Awards’ regional winners were featured during the program. A live public vote selected Imhotep Academy as the overall winner and recipient of a $5,000 grant. The first runner-up Salam Academy in Albuquerque, NM and second runner-up Al-Madinah School in Brooklyn, NY earned grants of $2,500 and $1,000, respectively.
“Bright Smiles. Bright Futures is a children’s initiative, so we know how to bring the fun, but this was absolutely fantastic,” said Dr. Gillian Barclay, Colgate’s Vice President, Global Public Health and Scientific Affairs. “Over the years, we’ve learned that when you engage children and educate them about the importance of making healthy choices, they can become powerful, positive advocates in their communities.”
“Providing children with the life skills that set them on the path to brighter futures is an important part of my life’s work,” added Mariano Rivera. “As the Bright Smiles Kids Awards emcee, I love the creativity and enthusiasm the kids showed in their entries, and that Bright Smiles, Bright Futures puts into teaching children healthy habits.”
Launched in February, during National Children’s Dental Health Month, the Bright Smiles Kids Awards received entries from schools and organizations from Niagara Falls, NY to Albuquerque, NM. Submissions included videos featuring children singing, dancing, rapping, cooking, coding, participating in skits and puppet shows, and creating art projects focused on dental and overall health. Those winners received grants of $1,000 for the school or organization supporting their entry.
“The last year has been difficult for all of us, but especially for our children,” Dr. Barclay said. “Providing them with the opportunity to showcase their creativity, collaborate with friends and schoolmates, and become champions of health has given us all reason to smile.”

Italian Opera Star Andrea Bocelli Delights in AlUla Saudi Arabian Outdoor Concert
April 2021: AlUla Saudi Arabia: Bader Studios Arabia was once again on site for the Italian opera stars performance in Saudi Arabia.
Italian opera tenor Andrea Bocelli enchanted an audience in AlUla in his first-ever performance within the walls of the ancient desert city of Hegra.
This is the third performance in the Saudi Kingdom for Bocelli who performed for a limited number of concert-goers at the heritage site due to social distancing guidelines - the concert was just as spectator at his previous shows at Maraya Concert Hall during the Winter at Tantora Festival, which Bader covered and interviewed the tenor backstage.
The biggest surprise of the night was the maestro's 9-year-old daughter Virginia Bocelli, making her Middle East debut with her father on the stage playing the guitar and singing the lyrics to the iconic Leonard Cohen famous version of “Hallelujah”.
The master tenor called upon musicians from the Arabian Philharmonic, and was joined by special guests Loren Allred, Matteo Bocelli, soprano Francesca Maionchi and Eugene Kohn at the piano.
Hegra was built in the first century by the Nabataean kingdom and is an ancient desert city home to thousands of tombs cut into sandstone mountains. At least 100 tombs have detailed carved facades, a signature of the skilled Nabataean craftsmen of the time which Bocelli performed against a backdrop of 20 carved tombs of Al-Khuraymat.
Archaeologists say the tombs are among the best preserved in Hegra, and feature elegant gynosphinxes which are spirit guardians with women’s heads, lions bodies and wings which make up the mountainside.
