Balisongs and Other Blades

My love for sharp and pointy things goes clear back to my Grand Father being a knife maker. I got my first Balisong in the late 70's or early 80's. I bought it at a Flea Market and flipped it till it died. When I went off to collage I left the Balisongs behind and did not pick one up till the shutdown. Now I can't put them down! WOW oh WOW flipping has changed! As have the knives! I'd like to share my Balisong journey with you all. From the knives themselves to my progress as an aging flipper.

For time immemorial, popular songs have generally consisted of two equally important halves — their music and their lyrics. As music and melody are what are presented so predominantly, the lyrics are often overlooked. In so many ways, this is a tragedy. Lyricism is an art form that encapsulates the emotions, dialogue, and overall messaging of a musical artist's expression. Countless hours of thought and deep introspection go into the words contained in your favorite songs. Yet, most people only know a few lines in each masterpiece. Well, here at Lyristoric, lyrical appreciation is our main focus. Together, we will explore the most beautifully crafted, impactful, and poignant lyrics ever written, and delve into the history around them by exploring the literature written about them and the artists who wrote them at the time they were written. While decoding each line, we'll lift the vails off all metaphors to learn the underlying meanings of these works of art.
