His name means “the plumed” or “feathered serpent” — a powerful symbol that bridges earth and sky, body and spirit, matter and divinity. More than a deity, Quetzalcoatl represents a living consciousness of wisdom, truth, and sacred knowledge. He is the bringer of the calendar, the awakener of souls, and the bearer of the wind and breath — known to have gifted humanity the arts of writing, science, agriculture, and spiritual law. In myth, he is both god and man — a divine being who walked the earth, taught peace and bounty, and promised to one day return when the time of great awakening had come.
